It's almost time for another adventure. I'm off to Naples this weekend.

I was supposed to be going with my friend but she's cancelled so I'm going solo.

Has anyone been? Do people Fab in Italy? I could use a dinner date!

You need to visit Herculaneum, everyone says about Pompeii but Herculaneum is more thought provoking and emotional. Sorrento is lovely as well. Naples is a hundred miles an hour.

Yes, this! Sack off Pompeii and do Herculaneum, manageable in a short time x

Been years ago.

Pickpockets and mad traffic were downsides

City itself is gorgeous. Pizzas amazing

And Vesuvius over the city makes good photos. Saw the Roman stuff at herculeanum they were buried a different type of stuff than pompeii and more preserved.

Boat trip to capri was good

Naples is a fantastic city, you have he old town that is really authentic and a bit grubby, but really nice in its own way.

The more modern part of Naples is along past the port and is very clean with designer shops, but very nice area.

The Spanish quarter is very atmospheric, but again its really worth a visit, but go during the day and not on a night.

We found the locals to be really nice and accommodating.

Can't comment on fab fun as we didn't look.

Oh the traffic is absolutely mental.

Thanks. I'm planning a day trip to Capri on Saturday and I'm booked on to a group bar crawl on Friday night so not sure how much time I'll have as I want to explore Naples itself when I arrive.

Think I'm in the old town at night. Spanish Quarter is on my list and the Eat Pray Love Restaurant. Also hoping for some beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

I think pick pockets and mad traffic happen everywhere. Paris was the same but I always felt safe

If you want to experience a bit of more local cuisine and less tourism, check out the bars and restaurants around the Sigonella area..

I go to Naples 3/4 times a year with work. I never get bored of it. It is colourful, vibrsnt, loud… buzzing.

If it is your first time in Napoli, of course you’d want to go to L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele (the Eat Pray Love one) but bear in mind queueing starts at 10am and the place opens at 12pm. And while the pizza is nice, it isn’t the best. I had much better one at Pizzeria San Gennaro… they had a Fior di Latte or Burrata starter that was incredible and the pizza delicious… less busy too!

The Spanish Quarter is something else and there is a bar called “La Mano de Dios”. Alluding to Maradona’s miracle in 1986. I always have a beer there.

Have a fantastic time! 🍕 🇮🇹

Thank you! I get the feeling I'll love it! I've booked myself on to a group bar crawl and I'll keep that in mind about the queuing.
