A question for the ladies...

I was recently chatting with a fab friend and she commented that I make her feel safe.

She's not the first lady to say that and whilst I'm very pleased women feel that way around me, it did start me wondering?

Is it that I'm dull and relatively harmless? Is it that I give off a respectful vibe? Is it a trait ladies look for or more the voracious wolf "alpha" that has ladies weak at the knicker elastic?

somewhere, someplace

Based on some of the messages I get on here, likely it's you're respectful and not vulgar like some seem to think is the best approach on here

It is because you treated her like a human being and not a set of holes with a pulse.

Not the North West...

I've never felt unsafe with any guy.

It's not something I would ever say or even think.

Are you quite tall and muscular. She might have meant that.

I know mostly when a man is unsafe so I only interact voluntarily with men who don't make my hackles rise

Depends on how she means "safe" when she said it.

There are a few people on fab that I've met sexually or just on a friends only basis, that when I'm with them I know I'm 100% safe around them and they've always got my back so to speak if out and about elsewhere or on a night out.

The ones that will always make sure you get home safe/back to hotels and will genuinely keep an eye out for you at larger events.

Sexually "safe" usually just means they've listened fully to your needs and wants and also anything you said no too and will never ever push those boundaries or nag at you to change them.

So "safe" isn't a negative word at all when used for the above in my personal opinion.

With the same person?

If the answer is yes then it sounds more like a gentle way of saying “let’s just be mates” to my tin ear

No, pretty much every woman I'm regularly intimate with. They keep coming back so it can't be a negative?

If a woman told me, I feel safe around you, I’d kick her in the river, keep that bitch on her toes.

It's a good thing. Most of us have grown out of the bad boys and being treated badly.

I whisked a woman on here off to a hotel. She told me she felt safe, and would not get in a car with just any man.

I take 'safe' as a compliment form a wild woman.

Congratulations OP, a new member of the Fab League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen. If a woman says she feels safe with you it’s something to be proud of… it doesn’t reflect badly on your masculinity, rather it defines it.. If a women feels safe to experiment with you, relaxed to play, able to explore and push limits, play with others while assured you will look out for her… the ‘Alpha Wolf’ attitude doesn’t mean making women worried to be alone with this personality type.

"It's an odd thing to say "

I disagree. It's a gracious thing to say and some things should be taken/accepted in the spirit in which it's intended.

Not every compliment or gesture is a loaded one.

middle of somewhere

I see it as one if the best compliments you can get. Xx

If i dont feel safe with someone i wont let myself go n enjoy myself.

I dont mean safe in the violence way ..i mean my wishes and needs are considered as important as theirs.
