Do you have good support if you are struggling? Especially if you are a guy as men tend to keep more quiet about how things are.

As we get into the winter months how do you look after yourself? Do you talk or tend to be quiet?

Could fab start a Men’s Room in the forum to chat about MH and depression? How could this be started?

We could just talk about it in general, as if it's not some taboo subject.

Like mental health had parity with 'physical' health.

As we all know 'mental' isn't physical it's made up of magical, supernatural stuff.

Agree with this, it definitely needs to be talked about more and its getting there. Men's mental health shouldn't be a taboo subject anymore than anyone else's. I try to look after the men in my life and make sure they know they have feelings too. Thankfully they are all quite good at talking and letting go when they need to. I want to look after them like them look after me.

I absolutely agree but forum posts get easily lost if there was a category set up for it tho people would not have to look for it amongst the other threads all I was thinking

Fair, apologies it wasn't my intention to detract from that.

I think a men’s room would be a really good idea. So many guys feel the benefits from talking, being supported with their MH and it would be a great place for them to share knowledge and experience with the guys that aren’t quite there yet.

I am not sure how one can be started tho?

You'd need admin to start a separate forum for it. It's worth asking in the site suggestions and see what happens.

As a mental health first aider there is a definite need to get the stigma of mental health removed and a better education system behind it

My mental health this year has been the worse it’s ever been. The death of my dear dad and then an uncle a couple of months after didn’t help. I found myself at the bottom in a mix of not wanting to burden others with my problems and also pretending there was no problems at all. It’s gotten better over time and I find a temporary quick fix day to day is to have painfully hot showers and too much wine 🤷🏻‍♀️ seems reasonable for the time being

Felt low for a while, like I’m stuck in a rut but using techniques that I’ve learned in therapy to not spiral, also talking to people when needed but still feeling in the rut. Looking for ways to get me out of this funk, which will hopefully be soon
