I am genuinely upset at the latest arrest. I hope its not true. On the other hand, I hope he is sentenced accordingly if found guilty.

Yep, me too. You grow up thinking that some people in the public eye are paragons of virtue.

Me too, just seems so unreal. Obviously have reasons for the arrest though

Making no comment at all about anyone who has been arrested.

Sometimes people are not suspected precisely because of the image they have, no one wants to think badly of a kindly gentleman who makes you laugh.

On a wider topic, does anyone else here feel uneasy at ANYONE's identity being made public in this way before being convicted.

I remember a short time ago when the poor theatre manager in Bristol got put on the front page of every newspaper for be - wrongly - accused of murdering a tenant in the flats where he lived. The press had a field day with him, based largely on the fact that he was a bit off looking.

When it was found he wasn't the murderer, the sheepish apology was pathetic.

If people are found guilty, they should rightly face everything that's coming their way. But until that time, should they not be afforded anonymity?

Totally agree and remember that case well, everyone judged that poor guy cos of the way he looked and he was pretty much considered guilty right from the start. That guys life will never be the same !

Seems we have forgotten the " Innocent until proven guilty " in this country and how it can destroy someones life, very sad !!

I think all pedophiles, sex offenders should be chemically castrated including celebrities if found guilty but it seems you are guilty as soon as you are arrested and the press have a field day with you. Rolf Harris has been arrested but not charged. I think there should be anonymity until case proven. Mud always sticks and even if he is innocent they'll always be in people's mind he was arrested. It can destroy innocent people's lives and let's not forget innocent until proven guilty.
