As we approach the end of the year or the last couple of months, overall has it been a positive or negative or just an okay year for you?

What have the highlights been?

East Sussex

Overall positive I'd say

Highlights are a couple of nice holidays, some times with family and friends and just appreciating being able to do things together.

How about you op?

They sound great and thank you for asking

Overall not too bad. Got some good riding in of bicycle and motorbike. Ticked all the work boxes and more importantly have learned what I will and will not tolerate

It's been a year of ups and downs, grief and joy, dark moments and hope. But isn't that any year?

It's ending in a far better place than where it started. Highlights are seeing my son recover from severe anxiety and suicidal tendencies. He's gone from being a school non-attender to flourishing at college ❤️

Other highlights:

Changing jobs.

Getting out of a very unhealthy relationship.

Fantastic friendships.

A family wedding.

Amazing sex with one of those fantastic friends.

Overall it's been a very positive year.

It started very very badly and continued that way until September.

After the 9 month slog that felt like 9 years things are now looking positive and we seem to be at the the threshold where the light at the end of the tunnel is ❤️

It's been positive. Long awaited and well deserved midlife crisis commenced.

Lots of travel and adventures. Many memories made and so many more to look forward to.

I'm slowly trying to make peace with myself. It's a long process but I'm working on it.

My boys are all doing well, they make me so happy and proud.

I'm embracing the dating world fully.

I've got some goals and things to work towards which is exciting and scary in equal measure.

I'm feeling very lucky and greatful.

Lots of very tough periods.

A few that were tough but not exhausting.

Some watershed moments that put a big smile on my face.

And an 8 day driving holiday to France and Spain that covered a huge amount of personal, emotional, and geographical ground.

Epic qualities - I'll have strong echoes to draw on for decades with it.

So, in summary, plenty of shit, and a glittering diamond within that.

I've spent a lot of time this year struggling with my mental health, so it's been a really tough time.

Otherwise it's been a year of ups and downs, some standout moments and some really low points.

I've been setting myself up for some great improvements though, and good things have started to snowball.

Fairly negative. Been under a cloud for most of it, and noticed a considerable slide in my physical health as well. Trying to make changes to see if things improve but I often get bogged down in "what's the point"-ism

More ups than downs and I’m generally ok.

I finally saw the back of an 18-month period of horrible pain at work. That had taken over my life and made me miserable but I won and now it’s done.

My new role developed really well and I’m enjoying work again.

I moved ‘back home’ to a new flat which I love.

I have reconnected with my friends and now see them regularly.

I dieted and exercised which slimmed me down by three belt holes.

Only negative now is still being single but I will address that next year.

Things could be much worse!!

Second star to the right…

It’s been a tough year for a lot of reasons and emotionally draining but there have been some positive things to look back on.

Unfortunately there are more tough times to come but as someone once said, “it’s always darkest before the dawn”,

Being the eternal optimist, I feel 2024 has been a fantastic year… but then again there are always unfulfilled resolutions and things could have gone better but rather see what one gained than what the losses were… hoping for an even better 2025

Been a good year work and financially. Socially and mentally very good getting more chilled as the years go by. This year is better than last for sure. Looking forward to the next 6 months at the very least I will be mortgage free

High light would be falling for a amazing woman.

Low point would be my wife (also amazing) consoling me after it ended.

The break up sucked but my wife trying to cheer me up about it was the lowest bit (was a poly relationship).

Probably makes me sound like an ass to some people but cant help how I felt.

All good now though..

All good up until summer, since then I’m currently on the worst roller coaster ride with no safety elements in place until at least Christmas!
