my hubby found a wallet today in the changing rooms in asda, there wasn't any I.D in it but over £500,there was a credit card so we called the number and explained what we had found.they wouldn't give us a contact number but were good enough to give us an e mail address for the lady, she's just collected it from us and left really happy , she tried to give us a reward but we said no so she gave a £10 each to our 2 kids so she's happy were happy and the kids are over the moon

Wonder what would of happened if you had handed it in to staff at the shop? how far would they of gone to find the owner and would you of ever heard the outcome?

Cynical I know but I doubt the owner would of ever had their money returned.

just clearing this up,Ali got this bit wrong, the card wasn't a bank credit card,it was LUMIX which I believe is a Capital One credit card, when I explained the situation over the phone they said they would suspend the card until they heard from the lady In question, then gave us the e mail address for her, they also said they would try and contact her too

I wouldn't have thought it makes much difference what it was, under the Data Protection act, they should not have disclosed details at all, but should have passed your details onto THEIR CLIENT in order that she could contact you,

Don't get me wrong, I do admire your honesty, and it's great to hear she got her money back, poor soul I bet she was distraught at the thought of not ever seeing it again, but think the situation could have been handled better by the CC Company.

Petts Wood

I am gobsmacked that the bank/credit card company would give anyone the contact details of one of their card holders, it would be totally against the security protocol of any bank/credit card company.

A great story of honesty, but an equally worrying story of security and data protection....
