I know what you mean, we stayed in a hotel close to where many of the lodges/houses were destroyed by the fires

Anything but being unnaturally raised 30 thousand feet into the air, in an enclosed cylinder gripping the armrests tightly, imagining 1001 ways of plummeting to my fiery annihilation! If you hadn’t guessed, yes! I’m terrified of flying

"What is your favourite mode of transport "

.

Imagination.

.

I can travel the world, the universe, the multiverse, with the power of imagination.

.

But even without imagination, there is Google Earth, Streetview, and so many other YT videos of places, all available at the touch of a button.

.

So favourite mode of travel ? Imagination. When that fails ? Computer Mouse

Not scared of flying but the experience at the airport terminals at both ends is pretty grim nowadays and legroom on planes is horrendous.

Somehow took the whole glamour and kudos it had in the sixties and seventies and turned it into a thank fuck that’s over experience

You’ve actually nailed it there! I can abide cruise and landing, take off shakes me up! But it’s the nerves leading up to the anticipation of it, I can’t ever sleep the night before and I genuinely get so nervous it sometimes actually gives me the shits dealing with the anticipation of the event!

Used to have a laugh with the shorts bros box that flew to the islands and stuff and bouncing around with the turbulence. But those days are gone. The whole experience is crap nowadays.

Yes it is! It’s become a grind and a chore and just another feeling of shifting cattle! Oddly enough I have a seatbelt I lifted off a KLM flight to Amsterdam when I was 17 that I still wear as a belt now, that’s a happy memory where as now it’s nothing like that anymore sadly
