It might be hypothetical at the moment, but I'd still be interested to know people's thoughts on the matter. Would it boost the economy?

The minimum wage doesn't match the living wage as it is. if they cut it and you live in a city or a town invest in a fire extinguisher and insurance. you'll be needing it.

It's not even a proposal, just a discussion. The logic being that a company can afford more staff and that means more money in the economy. I can see the logic and but think it is so flawed that it is laughable.

The internal promotional literature leaked from Homebase highlighting how they abuse the unemployed via the workfare scheme as it can cut 1000's from their wage bill highlighhts perfectly on of the reasons why there is so little money at the bottom of the economy and is indicative of the attitude many employers would take given a lower minimum wage.

You can cut the minimum wage anytime you like.

The state will have to spend more in tax credits and unemployment benefit.

The unelected lot that are screwing the country for every penny they can, are more than happy to subsidise the wage bill of any company that will line their pockets.

Less money in & more money out is perfect to any economist.
