No details as yet as to whether its an accident or a deliberate act - but it is the 20th anniversary of the Waco cult stand off.
Either way it's very sad news but hoping this isn't another attack on innocent US citizens.  |

Domestic ? Possible link to the Davidians.
Like you said - it's a high risk industry but there's a lot of nut jobs in the US looking for opportunities to destabilise the government in any way they can! |

Personally I can see it.
The Davidians ended in Waco when Coresh died and by blowing up an ammonium nitrate production plant they've cut off their supply of a critical ingredient for future bombings.
Personally I think a fire broke out elsewhere in the plant and it spread to ammonia storage tanks. Just a tragic accident... |

Too many variables for it to be deliberate. If it was then why start a fire elsewhere and hope it spread to the ammonia storage tanks. A determined terrorist would have targeted them directly. Besides, it holds zero value as a legitimate target really... |
