Asking a question about a casual friend of mine,
She told me she's starting to experience menopause symptoms,
Just wondering if anyone has any personal experience.
Does the sex drive drop off or does it remain the same?
Thanks in advance |

Think I'm peri menopausal these days. Although rested twice and once my levels were under, the other time normal so no HRT for me yet 😒
My marbles decided to fuck off about 18mth ago though. My memory is horrific now, and my period keeps going AWOL... Then coming back |

My ex lost it completely. Then without any intimacy we were just two people hanging around together. Then when the hand holding and cuddles stopped we were just two people who happened to be sitting on the same couch. After 9 years together and two without intimacy we were no longer a couple. It is what it is I guess. Everyone will have a different experience |

"There is a good documentary on that's now on BBC player called
The Menopause Industry Uncovered"
No,that’s just pooh pooing help for women, not a true representation of Louise newson clinic, that clinic has been a god send to most women, unlike drs in surgeries that have no clue what they’re doing |

I am going through the menopause. I have been on HRT for past 5 years and recently (past 6 months) my symptoms have worsened, so underwent a review with my doctor and the oestrogen from my gel is no longer working for me and my levels are very low. So now I am on patches (strongest dose) and am hoping to start feeling like myself again soon.
OP, in answer to your question every woman goes through her own peri menopause and menopause, and her treatment whether HRT or something natural will be different in her experience to others.
Regarding sex drive, I hope mine regulates to my usual level when my oestrogen levels improve. Thankfully I have a husband that understands and is very supportive during my dips in sex drive. Which aren't frequent or long lasting at all. My advice is to keep talking and be supportive to her as no woman would wish the menopause on anyone.

My wife has lost all sex drive and now has no interest in intimacy…. As said previously it is two ppl seating on a sofa.
When approached the subject she says you’ll have to get it elsewhere… not that she would approve. |

"A series started on Radio 4 this week about the menopause. One of the reporters, it started at the age of 15 . How devastating!

That is very sad. |

It's different for everyone but I was recently in a relationship with someone struggling with the menopause and tried for over a year to be there for her but with the other hidden issues that came to the fore I couldn't expose my kids to what was happening. It killed me to end it but didn't see a choice. |
