What is in your opinion the greatest album ever?
Not a “best of” album or a “now that’s what I call” album
I ask as today I was going to buy a record player but couldn’t think of one album I can remember listening to from start to finish
So inspire me please 🙏 |

As an entire album to be enjoyed from start to finish, oddly (for me) the lemonheads album (called 'lemonheads' from 2006). |

"What’s Going On - Marvin Gaye
My choice too.
Well either that or:
Hejira - Joni Mitchell
Good Marvin Gaye album. Inner city blues is a great song"
Indeed. There’s lots of great versions of it too e.g. Sarah Vaughan, Phil Upchurch, Allen Hoist |

Oh I seen to have omitted Albums by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and PJ Harvey..but only because its impossible to chose individual albums when everything both of them as done are so godlike |

Like many of the posters above, it really is difficult to narrow it down to one but the following albums would be in the conversation:
Purple Rain - Prince and the Revolution
Whatever People Say I Am, that's What I'm not - Arctic Monkeys
Automatic for the People - REM
Blonde on Blonde - Bob Dylan
Blood on the Tracks - Bob Dylan
The Suburbs - Arcade Fire

The miseducation of Lauren hill
Songs in the key of life- Stevie wonder |
