Haha love your username! I used to throw a few shapes to it occasionally when out. Mind you, I was so out of it, I would have danced to anything... phone, kettle, car alarm... like the dude off Spaced |

I love trance too. My preference is psy-trance. Often go to London for gigs. Was there a couple of weeks ago at The Coronet for an Elixir of Life event. Luckily my housemate is a trancer too, so don't have to go alone. |

Fuck trance :p jk
It's all about Dutch Hardcore :P There is even a rave called 'WEHATETRANCE' hahaha. Shame with Trance is that most of the producers are many grabbers, all of them used to be Hardcore producers when it was the in thing and then switched to Trance when it developed a little more. Tiesto was one of the first Hardcore producers in NL. Pretty weird in hindsight. |

Trance has never appealed even cosidering how diverse our dance music tastes are. Just find it has always been quite cheesey and predictable, that aside appreciate we all have different taste so knock yourself and have fun. |

I personally find ministry of sound a bit crap. Too many teenagers who think mixing drink and drugs is clever.
I prefer my clubs less commercial. Why I like 414 in Brixton. And the more hippy parties like Elixir and Boom. |

You're not the only one. I'm a massive Trance fan and tune into 'A State of Trance' and 'Group Therapy Radio' on a regular basis (plus I download the Podcasts.
I tried to get time off to go to ASoT 600 in Madison Square Gardens but sadly couldn't in the end.
Current favorite listening is Above & Beyond - Group Therapy (the album) and Deadmau5 - album title goes here
..so you're not alone there are other Space Cadets on here... |

What is it with the hardcore brigade, they always seem to feel the need to claim the higher ground,
trashing everyone else's taste on the way up.
Get over yourselves, music should always be about what you like, not what some smug self appointed elitist, tell you it's ok to like.
For me,
Silence by delirium,is sheer trance genius, although likely dissed,by the to posh to push mob. |

"Armin Van Burren total rocks !! Love all his stuff
"
I'll be 58 in May, not a spring chicken!
Armin van Buuren is the Messiah, followed by Tiesto!
And to balance it all, my musical tastes are very eclectic, diversing into House, Rock and extending to Classical and Choral. With Choral, I specialise in secular music of the the 13th to 18th Centuries.
My radio alternates between Kiss 100, Radio 1 (on selected nights) and Classic FM.

Best track I heard in a long time was "Icarus" by Ralphie B, followed by anything of Sophie Ellis Bextor in conjunction with Armin Van Buuren - all sheer musical genius! |

"I am a HUGE trance music fan. I feel like I am the only one and esp as single female who is over the age of 19 {I'm 29 and yong on the trance spectrum). anyone my age and love trance for, even better old school trance (before trace was trance)
Went last year to celebrate my birthday in Ibiza at the closing party of space, was ace...... "
I can agree with you here! I went out to Ibiza for my 50th birthday and went to the closing parties of all the major venues, but SPACE is in a league of its own! |

I never went out raving much. not a fan of that type of hospitality. like to go to bars and stuff but not into big clubs that play techno. I listen to it when im at work when i need to get a lot of work done. i dont like trance i find it a bit wierd i dont mind techno and house. I like moby when he was younger and old skool stuff.
i listen to classic fm in the car. keeps me calm and relaxed when everyone else is speeding past;) Its very chilled. im not a classic fm anorak or anything like that. i couldnt mention any of the classics off the top of my head. Its just a lovely relaxing melody i like to sit back and chill out. its lovely.
Its funny that I remember 80s music and know all the words. bands like s-club 7 and whigfield make you feel really old when your friends dont understand the fun that music brought. great to sing s club 7 party when your pissed and you just wanna dance hehe |

Think you need to learn more about the Dutch scene :p Trance enthusiasts are the ones who say the wprst, plus half of the Trance producers did some shitty things that fucked some stuff up. It's only banter, I respect some Trance, though Hardcore producers are miles ahead of Trance producers with the breakdowns now.
I'm speaking Hardcore from Europe btw, not UK Hardcore.
Only banter, not eltism...thank Hardcore otherwise I don't think Tiesto would of ever taken up music Get it now? |

Also Ferry Corsten, Darren emerson is more underground.
I like Tiesto and Eddie Halliwell back in the day when he used to tear it up before he got all boring.
Paul Oakenfold has lost the proverbial plot now.
Cheers

Oakie is on the comeback trail. The last year or so he's been going back to his roots with a slight twist.
The perfecto fluro sound works well, Eddie expect some new stuff from him soon too.
ferrys gone more electro these days, which fits in nicely into the the US market, really the US market is what is influencing a lot of peoples sounds. Theres more gigs/more money/more production etc.... out there right now. The boom industry at present. |

Ahhh- the new old clubs in brum, never went as that was my sisters turf and I prefer my dirty techno, so I went to the best techno club in the world ever- Atomic Jam at the Que Club as well as its close rivals (or complementary clubs) House of God and Synergy. Lots of trance in all 3 due to the big genre crossover- also had a fuckin bangin D&B room too.
So wish my brain was capable of still doing it all |

I've followed Eddie since the days when he was resident at Slinky in Bournemouth on the South Coast.
Eddie was a legend.
Go back to the days of GodsKitchen, the guy used to tear it up.
He did an amazing remix of "synth & Strings" which rocked it.
He did the Cream Ibiza Amnesia 2012 opening Launch Party and he was god awful it has to be said.
Eddie will never get back to his absolute vintage best.
Paul Oakenfold ears are going from so much punishment from loud music, I was saw him on NYE Rain in Las Vegas..awful.
Hopefully we get some good stuff coming up.
Cheers
Ben
Armin Van buuren went head to head with Ferry Corsten one of the best duals I've ever heard period. That was at Godskitchen too. |

Absolutely love trance, acid house, dance music.
I started clubbing at the end of acid house so missed a lot of it. Although I gather it was mainly being played at raves rather than in clubs??
Would love to do ibiza, although thought I was too old......_enguy your my hero!! |

Eddie playing marcel woods lemon tree at creamfields is a moment I remember. That is a proper track.
The scene has changed though, like I say the american influences are big.
Seeing a Dj in the states often does mean you will hear a set more tailored for the 'EDM' kids.
just look at how wild theyre going for hardwell/zedd/nicky romero.
Its not all bad though, artists like M.I.K.E push have gone back to their roots a touch after going all EDM for a while.

I am up for it. Is it a vanilla night or swing/fetish night? I must admit I have never heard of it but I am up for it. Where is it? and if it's outside the capital, anyone fancy a sofa surfer? |

Ibiza is a family island. seen many octogenarians there..
However if you looking to get away from the d*unk pissed 18 year olds from the bar quarter of san antonio, go to Playa Den Bossa where the sexy Dutch go - only problem with that is you have the flight path of planes going past and no sunset strip. |
