Was actually reading the history of Walkers, and many believe it is completely different to Lays, well I do. Walkers kicked off in 1948 and Lays did similar crisps separately, both were bought by a parent company and as Walkers had over 60% established market share, they retained the brand name. Lays was already established globally but would have been lost in the British market. There is a difference in taste and many believe it is because Walkers only use a particular British potato. |
