I miss this........

I miss this.....
Playing Kerby and Pegs.
Staying out until the lights came on.
Swinging on the swings and jumping off so high you felt you could fly.
Knowing your mates were our by spotting their bikes on the paths.
Going to the corner shop for a 10p mix.
Racing around the block.
Going to the chippy for a bag of scraps.
I can't remember the last time I did these things as a kid , but what I do know is if me and my mates knew it was the last time ever, we would have skate boarded down the big hill together, holding, hands in the air and made sure we all went as fast as we possibly could ❤️
What do you miss ?
What one thing from your childhood would you do one last time?

A lot of things you have mentioned above.
Going out all day playing football with a big bottle of pop and not coming back all day
Games like hide and seek,tag,Bristish bulldog
6 weeks summer hol feeling like it was forever and always sunny

Eating a pack of Opal fruits and watching Round the Twist after school.
Realising I really, really liked girls when I saw Cameron Diaz in The Mask at the cinema. 😍
Doing my first Ollie on a skateboard as chubby kid and my friends being more excited about it than I was.
Carrying around my Sony Discman like a dinner plate (otherwise it would skip) and listening to Dr Dre 2001.

This made me tear up....
I just miss my friends. Hearing them laugh. Banter like only we do to things only we understand. Feeling of belonging to people who are as equally awkward as me.
If I knew how far we all will be from each other, I would have appriciated the little moments so much more. |

Living in a small village with the countryside fo a playground, and a body that would let me revisit the kind of adventures I had when i was a boy. Nowadays, a slow walk on a flat pavement is my limit.😕 |

Yes use to do this on a bran new 1979 music centre with tuner/ tape/ record deck then with some home made electronic disco lights did Discos at the local youth club  |

I miss the moments that made me proud. Like being a sea cadet, and being a guard of honour at the cenotaph in Huyton for Rememberance Sunday.
Of course doing the fun stuff like playing on parks with your mates, out on the bikes, spending a whole weekend playing a 40k battle in someones house.
Having a party when your parents were away, then spending a morning cleaning up before they came back home. |

Waiting for TV to start for the day at 6pm.
Building a fort in the back garden.
Going sailing on the harbour on a Saturday morning with the other juniors from the yacht club.
Scouts on a Friday night.
Rugby practice after school.
Walking across the rugby fields at the local teacher training college to go to the municipal swimming pool in Summer, with the surrounding streets all purple with Jacarandas.
I also can't remember when they stopped.
