Getting blamed for allowing my kid to nap due to me being sick all throughout Saturday night and my kid waking up early cause of noise. Now telling me that if this happens one more time that I won't get to have my own child more than once a week is fucking wrong.

Normally I try not allowing my kid to nap but if they need it for a reason I only allow 30 mins with 40 as maximum.

Sorry for the post just a rant.

Look at it through your partners eyes. You haven't interacted or entertained your child, you have just let them nap and they are returned to her not going to sleep at night as they have had a daytime nap.

If a child needs a nap they should be allowed to nap.

You cannot be stopped from having your child if you have sorted things out in court.

If you haven't sorted things out in court more fool you. Get it done. Then you can't be threatened with not seeing your child.

You're co-parenting. That to me means you are the parent while your child is with you within broadly agreed boundaries. That's difficult for both parents and needs a lot of understanding on both sides. On the face of it I can't see that you've done anything wrong and I have a profound dislike of children being used as weapons to hurt parents. However I don't know the full background

I’m assuming you have joint parental responsibility. If so , go to family court and get your access agreed in writing .

If the threats have already started around your access that will only continue.

Pre empt the argument and confrontation and get it put in writing .

Keep a diary and log everything .

Just a bit more information incase anyone wanted to know.

I was bringing everything up late Saturday night, sip of water straight back up and was heaving over toilet. I asked my ex would they be able to grab my kid as I didn't want them catching it.

My kid woke up way earlier than they should have, crying and trying to hug me while I was being sick. My ex was pissed that I woke them up, saying I need to man up cause when they sick they have to deal with it alone but I have always said if I'm needed for my kid I'd drop work and help.

I've never been mean to my ex always tried helping when possible, even if it means lending money to them.

In situations like this the adults need to be adults and if one can't or wont the other still needs to be.

Do what you can legally/officially and try if possible to negotiate this without too much drama. I watch our kids friends navigating this particular life situation, some more successfully than others

I was told by my ex in the early days of separation, that I shouldn’t be vacuuming the house, that wasn’t spending “quality time” with my daughter. I was seeing her four times a week. She was a teenager.

It’s called control. 🙄
