When I was about 9 / 10 watching The Omen .... the man had his head cut off with a sheet of glass.
Oh and one of the Hitchcock presents - when the man was buried alive |

"The Exorcist
Agree - although the dated effects take the edge off slightly..
And to go out on a left field suggestion : Event Horizon"
Event horizon is an excellent film! Wouldn't say majorly scary but good!! X |

Jason Vorhees, Friday the 13th gave me many a nightmare followed by Halloween with Michael Myres. Could always guarantee the obligatory topless scene too |

"The hills have eyes remake.,
Night breed
The human centipied
Ooooh night breed! Is that the one where that guy cuts his own face off at the beginning??"
I think so. Used to watch it almost daily during the summer holidays when I was in year 9! Each day if have my eyes open a little more!
Love IT too!! Event horizon isn't scary as such. |

Completely agree....the ending was shocking but the clown was awesomely scary |

REC was pretty intense. I have REC 2 but not watched it yet. I'm gonna watch them back to back soon.
I found Blair Witch scary, especially the last 10 minutes. I could imagine myself in that situation & its pretty scary.
Also, things like Hostel & Saw aren't scary, just nasty if you ask me. I know you didn't but anyway. |

"Glad Night of the Demon got a mention. Genuinely creepy as opposed to just a gore fest."
That's one of my favourites too. Haven't seen it on tv for years. |

When I was a kid (him), the scene in Salem's Lot where the vampire kid was knocking at the window scared me to death nearly. I couldn't lie facing my bedroom for months |

For me it has to be the ring.
When I was younger, I was watching it alone. Lights off, sound volume turned up. It got to a scene where the phone rings and a spooky voice says to the person that they will die in 7 days.
Scared me because during that scene just as the video finishes, my mobile phone rings. I had the same ringtone as the phone sound in the film. Made me jump. |

When I was younger it was American Werewolf In London.
Nowadays though, nothing scares me. I know "the formula"
Foreign horrors are far better. I like twisted stuff like martyrs. But not stuff like a Serbian film *shivers* |

I found REC disappointing. All the hype and none of the payoff |

""Whistle and I'll come to you" is a very spooky ghost story that will have you hiding under the duvet. The 1968 and 2010 remake are both very good"

good call..especially on one scene!" Yes those two movies are fucked up or wring turn two or three when they kill the hot girl and the inbred woman wears her face as she's she's being fucked ,that fucking scary.but what's more scary in life I think is the real life psychopaths that kill and totally get way with it for ages like the wests who were swingers apparently and people who would do the twin towers and those who would bomb a marathon in Boston.thats more fucking scary cos it's real its happening and that's cool ,calm and sooo calculated .with mass destruction and shock horror lots of lives lost and people who are doing things for charity.wtf.this world is fucking crazy and fucked up.would love a john Lennon world where there as no killing and a big love in or fucking in .and yes he died too.booo.xx: |

amitiville was good so was superstition
2 lads got separated in a house at the beginning when things go weird trying to get out the house 1 of the lads does up in a room and the microwave turns on with his m8.s head in so he dives out the window and the window chops him in half. Great start to a film lol. Was some great horrors in the early 80.s when i was a kid.evil dead. Loved that and will be at the cinema next week to watch the remake.
As for Blair witch scaring any 1 a group of kids camping getting scared of owls making noises in the night yeah right .just did not get that film even right to the end load of pants pmsl |

When in was a kid.
The Thing. Had nightmares for nearly a week.
The Shining. This movie put me off Crunchies for ages because the ad came on as the room was flooding with blood. |

I did something similar after watching The Ring. Loved the film, didn't scare me at all. But as I'm getting myself up from the sofa, I must have lent on the TV remote, TV switched itself back on, scared the bejesus out of me, thought the girl was going to start climbing out!!! |

I watched Evil dead on my own on video late at night before all the video nasty nonsense at age about 14
Scared the life out of me, loved it, still do!
I pretty much only watch horror films, the more obscure the better.
Find other films boring
But apart from evil dead and the aforementioned salems lot, both when younger I can honestly say I've not been scared by any film because at the end of the day they are just that, films! |

It was better in the cinema.
You didn't get it? Dunno why.
The end bit is Ruskin Parr. If you remember someone says that when he killed a kid, he'd have one face the corner because he didn't like the eyes on him. |

Blair witch was utter drivel IMO, wasnt scary and was filled with flaws lol, last 10 secs get intersting and then it ends !! I was fuming lol !!
The Evil Dead trilogy is bloody brilliant, first one scary as fook, second one is one of the best black comedies ever and the 3rd is just brilliant lol ( particularly the alternate ending )
Horror films these days just dont cut the mustard lol, the original Romero's zombie trilogy were pretty dam good |
