I get a lot of Cold Callers, I've just bought 2 window stickers "No Cold Calling" I just wondered if anyone else had any and do they stop Callers

I have 3 dogs who go ballistic when someone is at the door. I have a separate letterbox and a separate parcel box. I have a door sticker that says beware of the dogs and a separate sticker warning off cold callers, religious callers etc.
And still people knock on the door.

We have a doorbell camera with microphone so we can talk to them without getting up.
They are told politely no once and if they petsist they are told they are being recorded harassing us. |

We've got a notice on the door that says basically no sellers, religious groups or cold callers.
It keeps all but the most determined away. A glare from me and a kindly leave from Mr does the trick with them |

Almost all of them have been stopped.
Perhaps consider getting local councillors involved, to establish your street as a no cold calling zone. If you get multiple neighbours behind it, it could become an official local policy |

Don't answer the door unless you know someone is due to visit. I never do, it's my door and I choose whether to answer it or not.
My mum had Parkinson's and was in danger of falling over when struggling to get to the door. These people are a danger to the elderly and infirmed in my opinion. |

exactly this the was ab article in my local paper about cold callers knocking on doors of pensioners & almost bullying them into signing up to there charity’s they’ve now been closed down but as said they are a danger |

I think i've only ever had 2 people knock on my door randomly, cold called. One was the local councilor drumming up support and the other a johovah witnesss.
Only 2. Ever. Maybe I should use one of those "No peddlers, sellers or bible bashers" stickers to tempt them ? |

Such a nuisance I don’t tend to get cold callers as I live in an apartment building but if I did, I think I would just ignore them. I only really answer the door to people who’ve been invited or if I’m expecting a delivery/ tradesperson etc. I was contemplating getting a ‘no junk mail’ sign as I’m sick of all the crap that gets posted through by Royal Mail. |

My friend has one and she said works. I find ignoring the door works or telling them to go away. Any religious groups that don't listen get told I'm a witch or that I worship Satan. Usually gets rid of them. |

I can see all callers, and if it's obvious it's not an expected Amazon delivery, then it's going to be a cold caller.

Thus, I answer the door coldly as well.

1. Open door
2. Say nothing and stare at them.
3. Let them say their spiel. Say nothing during the spiel.
4. When they finish, close the door.

Typically they struggle with number III, but mostly agree with major elements of the rest. That's when I hand them a flyer for the Satanic Temple and tell them they're a pretty good fit with a bit of tweaking.

They never seem to want to discuss anything else after that which is a shame, as I like to discuss the War in Heaven in which a 1/3 of the Angels rebelled and this suggests deep institutional dissatisfaction with the senior management. |

Well, we’ve not had any religious callers since the sign went up so it kind of does.
BUT as someone else has said, it depends how determined they are really.

I used to get phone cold calls all the time. Until I told everyone that rang about a road traffic accident that I was riding a pig down the motorway the wrong way and got knocked off by an undertaking horse. That took a few turns but now I get none of them.
In terms of energy companies, they very quickly remove me off the systems when I used to tell them that I pay nothing for my electric because I've wired my house up to the streetlight outside or to next doors house when they went on holiday.
I don't get any now. |

Yeah they might get lucky and he only screams at them, or he might sing a song, swear or fart down the phone repeatedly. Either way it’s very effective |

I think they should set the fee far higher than 20 quid - not for your chat, which many of us would give you for free
But to deter cold callers, I'd probably say something like £500 would be a reasonable deterrent. I'd answer the door, take the Dosh and tell them to go |
