A very dear friend of mine died a few weeks ago after a 2 year battle with cancer, she knew her time was limited to days and just a few days before she passed she gave me a ring of hers. A ring that I had always admired. I’d not taken it off since with the exception of one night due to my hands being a little irritated. I took my rings off to apply hand cream. I forgot to put my rings back on and then later that evening went out for a fab meet. We met, had fun and I invited him back to my house.
Since then my rings have gone. I’ve literally turned my house upside down rather than believe anyone could steal from me under these circumstances.
I’m sick to the stomach and have my friends funeral next week and will be expected to be wearing her ring. I’m devastated….. |

This is one of many reasons I will never have anyone at my home no matter how long I've known them.
If it's some random and you know hardly anything about him then I don't think there is much you can do, if you have his name etc etc then report the thieving bustard! |

I'm very sorry to hear this, OP, on many levels — the loss of your dear friend, the misplacement of your treasured rings and the spectre of the possibility of theft.
Let's hope the rings manifest themselves in some place that had totally slipped your mind.

The police will handle things sensitively and will support you. If you're now certain, I'd ask a friend if they'd do a final check, before I reported it to the police.
The earlier something is reported, the greater the chance that it's found.
So sorry that it's happened, after your recent loss |
