Hello everyone,
I have been on here a while, I'm struggling to get people to respond to me. I know I dint have a display picture before people jump on that but I try to send a long first message with stuff from the profile...I send a selfie too. But I still get no replies...
Does the site actually work for meeting people? I'm losing faith in it tbh.... |

Yes the site works for meeting people.
Just not for everyone.
Setting up a profile isn't a guaranteed source of meets. It takes time and effort. And for most...a good selection of visuals and an interesting bio.
Most won't open a message til they've looked at yours, so no matter what you write or include it may go unread.

Does it work? Yes, but it's a bit of a numbers game really and even choosing people who seem ideally compatible to you, response rate is still very low. For whatever reason half the people are not going to find you attractive. For your message there are many many more arriving in the same inbox, many of those also well thought out and carefully constructed. Basically it's a buyers market. You're a commodity that is almost certainly offered in better packaging and slightly more aligned to their detailed needs by someone else. |

Most people (especially women) will look at the profile in the first instance before even opening your message (or not), let alone replying, OP.
I think it's obvious why you're not having much luck...

You have to be mutually compatible, not just having a one sided perceived compatibility. Most people are not mutually compatible, so adjust your expectations accordingly.
You must ask yourself how well anyone could possibly get to assess whether you might be compatible with them. Anything other than Yes, is a No. The onus is on you to let them take an informed decision upon you. They will look at your profile before reading your messages. Do what you can to let them see you and know what you can give them.
