Not really I spent 15 years with someone who never ever complimented me not even in the slightest actually preferred to put me down any chance she got, I just ignored it as was sure it stemmed from her own insecurities as she hated her body so kind of got used to not hearing it

There's an interesting article in the guardian yesterday about building sexual currency, it can be a knowing look, a suggestive comment/joke , hand or fingers in contact with anywhere on you (not necessarily the obvious). All of these can portray desire - for me I need to feel desired, yes sex is important but all of the above rank higher.
