I was driving today, approaching a roundabout and spotted this woman with a pram waiting for a break in traffic to cross. She waited two or three minutes, a 100 metres or so down the road were traffic lights. There was a small break in the traffic and she sprinted across causing cars on either side to break to avoid hitting her and her child. She then walks down TOWARDS the lights. I give up... |

I once saw a mother at a pedestrian crossing with her child on one of those safety harnesses. I’d slowed to extra slow as she was chatting to someone and I was anticipating the lights changing to red. Because she wasn’t paying attention she’d let the harness go a bit slack and the kid had enough harness to run out onto the road. Albeit just past the gutter line but a bike or bus could have hit the kid for sure.
I could have got out the car and slapped her (but I didn’t because I’m sure she scared herself silly).
A momentary lapse in concentration is all it takes.

I'm a bus driver and almost kill at least a couple of dozen people every day. They either;
Step into the road THEN look to see if it's safe to cross
Walk blindly into the road with headphones on whilst staring at their phones
See the bus coming, not giving a fuck and walk into the road anyway, assuming the vehicle that weighs anywhere between 11.5 and 17.5 tonnes (depending on passenger count) can and will just stop for them
Stand with a pram half in the road
Or do as already said in here and just make a dash for it.
Then there are the uber drivers that seem to think they are the only vehicle on the road.
Oh and kamikaze food delivery cunts on super fast, doctored electric bikes that just go straight through red lights or pedestrian crossings while the few pedestrians that bother to use them, are using them.
So many people are fucking stupid.
Rant over.
Apologies for the profanity.
Mr.
Wow I feel better

"It is rather astonishing that people pushing baby buggies sometimes push them out first between parked cars before they walk out. Hopefully they’ve looked properly first. "
Clearly I don't advocate putting your child at risk. However, the very design of prams/pushchairs means that the child is pushed in front of the attendant adult, no?
If people didn't park on pavements and across dropped kerbs and over yellow box junctions and all over the shop, like prats, then it'd be a lot easier to keep people of all ages safe. |

I was *on* a zebra crossing in a one way, two lane road with my daughter once. She was a step ahead of me, traffic in the left lane had stopped it was reasonable to assume traffic in the right lane would too. It didn't. Fortunately I assume everyone on the road is an idiot and had reached out and pulled my daughter back. The look on the face of the woman as she drove across a pedestrian crossing inches from my daughter was one of shock. Had I been able to I would have given her a talking to that would have stripped paint from the walls. |

There's a pedestrian crossing in town that triggers the red light for car almost instantly from the button being pressed. Often I'll be walking down the street towards it and there will be crowds of people either side waiting for a gap in the traffic instead of pressing the button or they all just assume someone else had pressed it. The traffic there is constant and rarely does a gap come. A minute later I'll actually arrive at the crossing where I've seen this ever growing crowd amass and I will press the button. Hey presto a few seconds later traffic light is red, green man is on. |

Ever thought of a career change?"
No, easy job and half decent money. If i'm unfortunate enough to be a Darwin award donor, I may give it some thought. |
