In the papers today it talks of a male contraceptive pill. Well actually it’s a gel called NES/T rubbed in around the shoulder area.
Still under trial and it says men will have to take testosterone
No chance of it losing its effectiveness if you have sickness either.
So there seems to be positives for it
Woman would you trust men to take it?
Men would you be happy to use it?
As long as it proves safe and effective

"so you use the gel then need to also take testosterone.
no thanks, it sounds like it woukd mess with my body in ways I don't want to mess with it."
That's why many women don't take hormonal contraception |

Messing with one's body is exactly how the Pills work for female contraception but this is rarely questioned. |

I'd trust my husband or other committed partner but not anyone casual, just as I wouldn't expect a casual or one off partner to believe me about my contraception. Condoms are NOT foolproof for pregnancy, but are the only way to minimise risk from STIs so I'd expect those to be used irrespective of hormonal contraception. |

"I wouldn't trust anyone to be in control of my contraception, as a woman I feel like it's my responsibility to keep myself safe."
I think this is a very sensible approach. _You_ can only control what _you_ can control - don’t rely on others. |

"Rather just be ultimately safe and wear a condom, tbh.
Don't rely on condoms alone to prevent pregnancy. I can tell you from experience that they are not ultimately safe"
Yes but to stop infections they’re much more safe than some gel to rub on my shoulder. |
