Andy's man Club

Has anyone got any experience of going to one of the sessions?

For context, Andy's Man Club is a non judgmental meeting where any man over 18 years old can go if he is struggling with mental health issues and feels unable to talk to people close to him.

I've reached a point where I'm thinking of trying it out.

I hope you're ok op.

They're popular here, you have nothing to lose by giving it a try. It's a very supportive group it seems.

I've gone to my local group before, they are a friendly bunch there and it's non judgemental there.

Never heard of them before, but in all honesty, if you feel you need help, don't leave it too long. You've done the first step.

If in doubt, just take that first step

Just do it

Sounds like it could be helpful

Best of luck, hope you feel better and fast 🤞

I’ve obviously never been myself, but in my role at work I’m aware of a number of people and they’ve all had really positive experiences.

Nothing to lose up by trying it once. Don’t be afraid just take one step infront of the other and see how the experience is

*UPDATE *

I went. I can't say it was amazing, but it opened my eyes. I'll go again, and see how I feel after a few more weeks.

Thanks to you all for the support.

Glad you went mate , and inbox is always open to have a chat to vent or get anything off your chest. Not enough people talk about the hard things, but that’s also easy said than done.

If you’ve reached the point where you’re thinking of it, you 100% should go.

Good for you for reaching out OP. I’ve heard good things about Andy’s man club - I hope you continue to enjoy the sessions. If this may help, there is also a text support service called SHOUT (I don’t think I am allowed to share links, so I would suggest Googling) and a mens group called ‘Never Throw In The Towel’ project, who are North East based and have occasional outdoor meet-ups/ wellbeing sessions. (Might be a bit far to travel but worth a look).

Soggy Middle-Earth (Cumbria)

I live in an area with the highest suicide rates in the country

Been to this a few times as don't know anybody here really and some of the harrowing stories are taxing to hear but that's life

Saw what 50 pubs close a month in UK now? and what if you don't drink much or at all?

At this you just chat and listen nothing else ulterior going on

Reminds me of Croc Dundee when they meet that woman at a party who had a problem and seen a psychologist he exclaims "hasn't she got any mates?"
