What pet dont you want to have?
Jump to: Newest in thread
I'd love a pet but I've yet to curb my wanderlust.
My friend had a terrapin, can't say I ever thought it was cute. I don't think I'd be happy having a snake or a pet spider.
I'd love a Chinchilla. |

I can’t wait to have a dog again. Situation at the moment doesn’t suit and it’s a bit unfair on those around me.
Sadly lost my last dog in August to lymphoma. He wasn’t even three.
But to get a new pup at the moment just doesn’t seem right. But in the new year, a new doggo will be in my house, I’m sure. |

"House cats is a term I've heard a bit recently.
It doesn't sit well with me. I do hope these "house cats" get two walks a day like dogs."
My dogs don't get two walks a day. They have a garden to run around in. My childhood dog didn't get walked unless a kid took him out. He drained the bottom of our tea cups, and my dad gave him some of his ice cream from the ice cream van on a Sunday afternoon.
He was never overweight and was 19 when my mum had to have him put to sleep.
He outlived my dad. |

I'm not keen on house dogs either |

"Don't think I'll have anymore pets again, rips your heart out when you lose them."
I can totally relate with this, I had to put my Maine coon cat Jessie to sleep at the end of August, and it absolutely broke my heart to do it |

I have quite a severe rodent phobia so anything smaller than a rabbit is out. Not happening. Nada. Nope. Ugh.
As it stands 2 ponies and 2 cats is enough. I almost added a small dog to the menagerie but my sensible head has prevailed! |

Quite a few bc of conditions often kept in. My neighbour has one solitary guinea pig. Whilst I'm not overly keen on them they're sociable and should be together and not housed in a crappy little hutch.
Very true of fish too where tanks are frequently overcrowded.
And birds, just no. Esp the likes of parrots.

I don't mind our spiders but I'm not an animal person all they seem to do is eat bark scratch and shit ,they only generally live 10 to 15 years and cost a fortune in vet Bill's I've never understood the fascination. |

“The answer is no. It is not a good idea to keep a hippopotamus as your pet simply because they are a double animal and the need to take care of them properly is enormous. Hippos need ample space; we're talking acres of land to get across, and they have a huge appetite.”
Well a quick google search put me off hippo ownership. |

Im a dog person, but I've never met a chihuahua that wasn't a piece of shit. I don't think I could deal with any of the small dog breeds that get separation anxiety if you go for a poo. Spaniels and dachshund are 2 examples. Also those waddling, farting sausage rolls (pugs) can fuck right off too. |

Pugs entire existence seems to be painful too. Used to bump into a woman who had one when I walked my dog. We let them off the lead and the noises that were coming out of it when he was running was something else. Thought he was going to pass out! |

Ah, I misspoke. I meant waddling farting, asthmatic sausage roll.
In some countries, pugs aren't classified as dogs. |

I'm not a spider or snake type of person. But, my landlady has around 10 tarantulas of varying sizes and 2 smallish snakes:- One venomous but placid. The other not venomous and not in the least placid, especially when food is about.
As long as they're in closed boxes, I'm good. But there's been around 2 times, when one's made a bid for freedom and they can move. Just lucky I can move faster....so far. |

Yeah turtles are cool but need cleaning so often to stop the smell from the water - cute tho |

It would probably be a dog and cat not because we don't like them but we lost our dog and cat suddenly last year within months of each other and we made a pact not to put ourselves through that crap anymore.
We've had snakes and lizards stick insects, African snails, tarantulas lizards and probably every type of rodent you can think of .
We have 2 tortoises which will probably outlive us and I will probably end up getting a parrot again as I miss the noise .. |

Had a dog, a cat, 12 rats, 3 hamsters, 2 turtles, tropical and cold-water fish. Glad I don't have any now, all a pain in the arse! |
