I went for dinner earlier, and there were a group of 5 people in the restaurant also dining. Their convo could be heard from 30 paces, the laughter was like there was a stand up comic performing. So i ask, should people

A) laugh like no one else is listening

B) be considerate of other diners

C) something else….

Brighton - even Hove!

Imagine them talking with their mouths full. Common as muck.

If seeing people enjoying themselves makes you mad or sad then you’re the problem, not them.

I wonder why there were 5? Two couples and a lonely sad one they invited out of pity? Or was it supposed to be 3 couples and one pair had a huge argument beforehand and one stayed at home?

I am all up for people laughing. Nothing lifts the spirits more than fun and laughter. Life is too short not to enjoy a joke or five.

That wasn’t a “you” as in you. More a generalisation

I get this a lot, I think probably because I seem more attuned to noise than most others. I find any noise an unnecessary nuisance and I would vote B.

That being said, I was out with six mates last night for a curry (yes an odd number 😆) and the restaurant was packed and noisy. Some of my friends were getting d*unk because they took TWO HOURS to bring our food out. Consequently they were getting pretty loud and I could see people looking, especially those out as couples trying to have a nice meal together. I was mildly embarrassed but not annoyed like I would have been if I was a an observer.

Somewhere

It is great seeing people have a good time

Unfortunately, I ended up in the situation the other evening where a group of people asked if they could share the bar table I was at. I said yes of course! One of the women was loud af though, and laughing like a drain at every word a guy said...

Wish I'd said no, this is my table. Bugger off

Being on the

spectrum, I have sensory sensitivity and can be fairly badly impacted by what for me is near intolerable, I become very uncomfortable. A well managed environment will aim to cater with conditions like mine. I'm also a fairly loud person sometimes and I make myself keep it we quieter, when I may be affecting others

I've posted before about those who have to have their mobile conversations on loud speaker to with very loud, poor sound reproduction

I totally get this... I find overly loud people after a while can become very annoying and I get fed up... especially if I they're very close.Im all for people enjoying themselves but there's no need to laugh and bellow like Brian Blessed....

Somewhere between a and b.

Great to hear people enjoying themselves but sometimes it gets out of hand.

I was out for dinner recently and there was a group of women having a good evening, but every so often 2 of them would kick off into a high-pitched screech … Jesus, couldn’t hear ourselves when those 2 decided to shout / screech

Could it not be 5 single people? Do single people not exist??

People laughing is fine.

People being deliberately overloud and obnoxious twats is annoying.

It could have been. It’s why I put a question mark. Yes, single people do exist.

It's not about whether people can laugh or not it's the volume... nothing worse if you've gone out for dinner and you have someone behind you braying like a donkey at full volume... people just need to be considerate of other folk tying to enjoy a meal

Yeah, now that I think about it, my answer is definitely B. Always be considerate. That doesn’t mean sitting there in hushed silence, it just means not tearing the arse out of it and let others enjoy the evening too

He didn’t even make it to the restaurant if I remember right. Ended up being Mrs Doyle, clare grogan and the winner of the lovely girls competition.
