Love it and the drama, but it's also sad how experts use the 'opposite attract' rule to cock about with emotions for entertainment.
Every year people leave due to partner stress they wanted to avoid. How and why people with controlling and volatile behaviour get through selection to be matched with people who are susceptible to or just left similar relationships seems a waste of their time and is a pretty uncomfortable watch too sometimes. |

I'm watching, as ever.
I almost posted the same about this, last night.
I'm disappointed that the chemistry isn't working too well, earlier on this year, than former times. And they have likely selected some people where this was more potentially inevitable . But it's a great show that can prompt us to examine ourselves and how we'd cope or not. |

There are some special women in the show this year. But, correspondingly not very emotionally mature men, who have been teamed up with some of them. . They're not particularly good communicators on their emotional selves. The guy who didn't presumably see how much he could crush someone's spirits, the day after their wedding, telling them how unattractive they are to him
The barber from Nottingham has had a face on him like a spoiled boy all week
I don't know all of their names yet. |

The irritating thing about it is their continued reference to ‘the experiment’.
How many seasons have they filmed around the globe and it’s still an experiment? Yeah right! In my opinion the only experiment is seeing how long they can milk the format.
And why is it that the Australian version seems so much better than the UK? |

I think most of us rate the Australian version as better. Perhaps they have a better production team over there.
I'm really disappointed with the behaviour of some of these UK men this year so that does flavour my opinion this time. |

I'm guessing this year's success rate will be low.

I thought they'd do well but they don't communicate or match emotionally very well.
Maybe they're brought too many people in this year who've got a lot of baggage, more than other years. I know the production company plays us but this time I'm more uncomfortable with who they've put together |

Yeah, if you take away the ADHD a few seem to have, a good few don't actually ready for a long term relationship never mind marriage. They might be wanting someone in their lives, but already they seem too self interested, argumentative, controlling, emotionless, even panicked. If the shows about marriage, they seem an odd choice when they really need to work on themselves before partnering up and loading that on someone else. |

If we see this, then it must be the same for the 'experts' and production company. I assume the researchers and producers pick them before the relationship experts get to them. Thus I get the feeling this isn't about making good matches and marriages, just likely conflicts and upset for entertainment

Absolutely! As much as it is a tv show for viewers I have actually learnt a lot over the past few series (I never watch the first few series) actually some really good advice etc and things that can actually be used in real life 😊 |

That's okay, I'm struggling with their names, not helped by having 6 new ones this week
Communication isn't the strongest amongst a lot of them. Too many blow up, when there's the slightest hint of something that they could compromise on. They seem to see behaviour as their identity and thus absolutely not up for observation and flexibility |

Both of them have work to do. I'm amazed at how many of them can go on honeymoon and split up, not talking to each other . I'm guessing that the long haul flights back to the UK must be uncomfortable |

I think perhaps Polly and Adam were well matched, not for being able to get on with each other but just their propensity to be somehow difficult. They've both got positive characteristics too but I'm guessing they were chosen for fireworks |

She is doing the same thing she did to that Charlie/Eve couple - she sided with the Irish girl isolating the brunette from the group for being a bully. She's doing the same with this new girl and Stephen? Going in on the new girl as she likes Stephen. Thing is that Stephen was the first to say 'off camera you said this', she just clapped back with 'are we bringing things up off camera then'.. he shit himself, twisted the narrative as if she made the threat.
If everything is filmed the 3 panellists could easily pull it up. It'd stop the arguing, sort Stephen out and Polly would again be seen to be jumping to conclusions. |

And the recent arguments, such as between the deaf guy and his Walsall blonde wife have been surprising. |

I haven't watched any this week, so just catching up now and OMG! Only 5 couples left, and Lacey & Nathan are the only ones who are happy. They've got a large volume of them who don't seem particularly healthy psychologically. Plus it seems odd too, that few seem open to relocation, like being locked in permanent childhood, unable to move far from parents |

It was funny how the girls called Hannah out for contacting Ryan and Orson, but on lads night, nice guy Stephen said he'd been in touch with around 5 of the wives... None of them admitted to contacting or having any contact with him before accusing her of sleeping around ()
Either Hannah is snaky (maybe), Stephen is a totally trustworthy (maybe not), or their relationships ended because they have mildly unhinged nonsense queen-queen arguments (probably). |

People keep saying this but nobody is wondering what it's like being with someone with this PPD thing and they don't show much of her when it's happening.... And they have different views that are important to each other... Just because someone seems like a wonderful person doesn't mean they are good partber material and definitely not for everyone... I think they are bith lovely and seenthatbin eachother, just not a proper match... We can all put up with someone because we think they're lovely and we love them, it doesn't mean we should |

I think that's a bit harsh. Ross is not an easy guy. I would not stay with a man with a temper like his.
None of the final couples have a chance in hell. Yes Nathan's pretty but he's also pretty brainless. He would bore the pants off me. Having ADHD doesn't cause you to be inarticulate. I have two kids with it. Polly has a temper but Adam cannot take even an ounce of blame.
But all in all a very entertaining season and a chance for each of the participants to grow if they examine their behaviour and take responsibility for it. This is why I watch reality shows. There is always something I can learn about myself or others. |

Wife and me have watched this since the first series but I think it's gone downhill big time since tbey changed it to this 'love island'format, far preferred the original format where the couples actually seemed genuine on the whole. Most of the new lot are just on it for social media likes, and I'm convinced there's a few actors thrown in to cause drama.
If you're a twitter user Paul Carrick-Brunson is on it regularly and is very good at replying, to positive and negative, actually comes across as a genuinely nice guy |

It's been bizarre that adults joined the show and didn't seem willing to have an open mind about whether they could form a new life somewhere else, with their new partner.
