In my experience, men don't care as half as much as we think they do. I've got 4 scars on my stomach now from surgery and it doesn't matter, it's your life experience. Don't focus on men's opinions, focus on feeling good and confident with your own body, that's the only opinion that matters.

Most men won't care and those who do, you probably wouldn't want to meet anyway.

If it becomes a confidence thing and you would like to hide it, you have access to lingerie that can do that as well.

In short, it's only an issue if you let it be an issue.

Wouldn’t bother me in the slightest if a play partner had scars. I think we as women are far more self critical of our own bodies than men are. Men are generally just happy to be getting laid and will be enjoying the beauty of your body, not looking at scars! Best of luck for the surgery xxx

I am hugely scarred from surgeries.

When I had them all , 74 procedures in a 5 year period, I decided at that point I’d never show my body to a woman again

This was made worse when I was in recovery I went to a spa break and 2 older woman commented when I stood up in the hot tub. It mortified me

I have also been turned down over my scarring by woman. They are surgical scars

Now I am open and upfront about them and see them as a badge of honour that keeps and kept me alive. They are mine to wear and if people don’t like me because of them then that’s their loss, I hope nothing ever happens to them that leaves them having any

However it takes time to not only physically but mentally heal.

Do you have to like them? No

But they are on you. Like a road map of life.

If I ever decide to get naked with someone then it will be because I want to, not because they want tell me they don’t mind them

What makes home, home? The clutter in that drawer of things you won’t throw out, that dent in the wall you still laugh about, not enough space sometimes but it felt filled with love for it, and the radiator which needs a bang to get it spluttering into life and tells you Christmas is coming with chilly nights and board games. It was never home when it was new, perfect, unlived in.

This is your body.

There's nothing wrong with scars.

Our bodies are maps that tell a story, some more characterful than others. The person wearing the scars is the important thing, and if anyone can't see past them then they don't deserve your attention

It makes no difference to me whatsoever, and can't imagine it would to anyone worth meeting.

I went on holiday to Gambia once with an Irish girl who lived next door, and she was obsessed that people would notice a tiny scar from a keyhole appendectomy. I had to tell her that her boobs would get far more attention...

There was someone I was chatting to on here a year or so ago and she was very quick to discuss her 'white elephant' abdominal surgical scarring. Changed absolutely nothing when I saw it.

It actually prompted me to add something about scarring on my bio as I knew how much it affected her building up to that point.

I once had a FB who had some major scaring from an accident she had as a teenager. I think (hope) I persuaded her that anyone worth playing with will see past the scaring, and in any case it was a part of who she was. She was particularly conscious about the scarring on her back (I think because she couldn't see it, so imagination made it worse). By the time we went our separate ways she was much more comfortable, which made me glad for her.

If it’s in a personal place then there must be a connection and trust before it was viewed, so anyone not respecting you when revealed has no place in your life.

As someone who has a scarring due to cancer surgery, I hated it but as time has gone by I’ve grown to like it. I go for scar massage therapy which has massively helped with how it looks and loosens everything up, I also use a cream for scars called Alhydran been using it for a few months now and the changes are noticeable
