Afternoon all, looking at going abroad next year on my own for the first time but a little bit nervous about it. Any one do this or have done it? After ideas as where to go mainly.

Oh and I’m not just looking for a shagging holiday lol.

Thanks

I go on holiday on my own all the time.

You need to decide what your preferences are - city, beach, sightseeing, Europe, world wide, cruise, hotel, hot weather or cooler. So many options.

I'm on holiday on my own at the moment. It's just like being alone at home but with sea and sunshine

I love solo holidays, but prefer to travel to places where I can speak the language, even if only a little.

That does limit my options as I speak English, French, Spanish and a smattering of German. No jaunts to the far east for me!

All depends on what you want to do and see.

We love Italy, absolutely loads of history and things to do.but at the same time you can it on a beach or by a pool.

I go to Majorca alone every September and next year i have booked Lanzarote as well for February. I always book a busy resort and accommodation which is close to the sea and shops.

I about go on my 15th solo trip, Fuerteventura for the 6th time, which I love. Also been on cruises and city breaks on my own. Never bored there is always someone ready to chat if you’re in the mood.

I mean, I wouldn't overthink it. Just have a general idea of near or far, mountains, city, beach etc then book a flight. I've frequently travelled alone all over and have never planned all that much.

I like my mind to be busy when holidaying on my own, so city breaks as opposed to beaches suit me best

My boudoir - S Wales

I went to Malta a few weeks ago by myself. Had a lush time. Made loads of friends (clothed ones) and saw some beautiful places. Swam in the blue lagoon at sunset. Found a hidden cove on Gozo and almost got trapped on a rock with a cut foot. It was an adventure for sure 😂

As you are nervous, maybe you could consider booking a solo group holiday. Lots of travel companies offer this.
