Don't you hate these? I've just been saddled with a 1k quote for replacing the rear suspension of my geriatric sports car 🙄😂
What unexpected bills have recently seen you eye roll or curse...silently or loudly?😅
Over to you. |

At the last place I lived, the residents car park was managed by a private company. When that company was replaced, the residents had a spate of parking tickets. My letting agent advised that I should ignore them as it was an error in the system and that they would rectify it.
Evidently, they didn't as now, some 3 years since moving to a new place, I've been hit with a final demand for a smidge over £4000! |

"A pothole costed me around 750£ just last week.
Aren't councils liable for that?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
They find a loophole every time "
Its usually either "we didn't know about it, no one reported it, so it's not our fault. We're not negligent"
Or
"Someone has already reported it and its on our repair list so we're not negligent".

I'm applying for reimbursement but I have very little hope I'll get a dime back. |

"Sky tv and wifi…. £90 a month for a basic package. Going to have to ring them yet again and try and barter the price back down 😒"
That does seem expensive🤔
I happily don't have a TV license and have no use for SKY, but WiFi is absolutely essential.
Haggling is always good!😁 |

Lucky we don't have MOT here or I'd be screwed!😂"
Do you get in trouble if bits of your car keep dropping off |

"New glasses and root canal treatment "
Have you checked the price for online specs orders? There are several that money saving expert usually covers. Perhaps a pair using your new prescription, could tide you over, without having the 2 huge bills? |

Just wave bye bye to Sky, and find someone cheaper for better wifi and subscribe to Now TV if you really miss Sky exclusive content. Most people don’t. |

"£970 on car tyres x 2 this year so far after a neighbours son in law put some form of screw or bolts in them!
And done 2 other neighbours cars too 😡 "
National Tyres do a lifetime guarantee kinda thing (for as long as you own the car)
I've had my moneys worth out of it
Costs about a fiver a tyre
Am not sure it covers for deliberate acts of vandalism, but worth a look |

"Over £300 in vets bills. And now I don't even have any pets to show for it, either "
I'm so sorry. We spent thousands on keeping our cat going a few more years but reached the end of the road with it in April. Little buggers sure do cost you emotionally and financially. |

Had 2 little toe rags decide they wanted to try steal my motorbike on Thursday so I've had to put in a claim due to damages looking 250 pound excess if its repairable. So not the happiest bunny the last 3 days. |

"Overnight rains knocked down my retaining wall on the driveway. Praying for insurance to cover it and replace it somewhat. Builder quoted 11k!!!" a wee hint, I had a friend needing plastering done, cost was horrendous..he paid to do a plastering course, then did it himself a lot cheaper,.maybe you can do a brickie course cheaper.

"I'm currently waiting for a ticket because I accidentally went through a bus gate, there was no signage for it or that the road ahead was closed to hopefully it won't come " that's exactly what one of mine was in Bristol. Lane suddenly became busy lane for about 10 ft🤦🏽♂️

I shouldn't really complain with my paltry 1k bill in comparison 😅😐
Again....no chance of council being liable? |

"New glasses, dentist and osteopath. Getting old is expensive. "
See if you can get referred to a physio. It's more beneficial and logical than osteopath ( which leans slightly more pseudo science). Plus some GP practices have physiotherapists on site. So it also shouldn't cost you.
-2 advantages.
A fellow old person that's had 2 spine surgeries. X |

Taking the dog to the emergency vet. £1,363 down later. The dog is doing great, unlike my bank account
Another £500 on changing his diet, homeopathy treatment and an animal communicator
He starts his day with fresh turkey, kale followed by natural yogurt and manuka honey
He ends his day with fresh chicken, olive oil followed by lacto free milk mixed with pumpkin powder |

Give Virgin a call and see what they'll offer you. New customers get treated like royalty whereas (as your finding with Sky) you're being treated with contempt being a regular customer. |

Apparently not. As this pothole is a “new” one. if it had been reported to them and put on their database we could have tried to claim. however, as this one isn’t they wont accept liability as they only do so if they have “failed” to repair the hole in a timely fashion. |
