How are the wonderful hedgehogs around you? They're showing in Countryfile this week. I've only seen 1 in my garden this year a small number of times, though I was pleased to see him/her run fast a couple of months ago, at dusk, (They're typically solitary animals). I picked a solitary one off the road this time last year, putting it into a neighbour's sheltered garden, after checks for health. |

I love Hedgehogs, my outdoor camera picked one up the other night as he was snuffling around the garden
I remember we had them in the garden at the house I grew up in, I can remember my Dad leaving Catfood and fruit out for them and they always tipped the dish upside down |

Enough food for them now, in autumn, is so important, before their hibernation. I don't leave anything that a cat can get, as next door s cat is a nightmare for them to get back indoors, if he's eaten outside.
I have huge piles of twigs and leaves, that they bury themselves into for winter |

Hedgehogs are the best!! They look so cute, schnuffling round in the undergrowth with their little nosies. I live in a penthouse so I don’t get to see them often. I did once consider having one as a pet but they’re nocturnal and hibernate so would probably never see them.
You can buy proper hedgie food from garden centres. |

"I try and encourage Hedgehogs to my garden but sadly I also have a family of foxes that often frequent my garden so it's a losing battle "
It's not the foxes eating the Hedgehogs, it's your feral neighbours! 🤣🤣 |
