To be a Geordie... ffs I am not an avid fan of football, but to react in such a way to a defeat is uncalled for...

Newcastle and Gateshead

the problem is this particular fixture always has it kicking off...

a few years ago we were all kept in after work for 3 hours as the running battles from the game went straight past our office....

There's always a few that spoil it. I've been in Newcastle when the toon army are on the march and all I've witnessed has been offensively loud singing!

I took it to mean because they have put the city in the spot light for all the wrong reasons

its not the 1st time they have done it, can remember at least 5 occasions where they have smashed the city centre up after a big loss, to be fair it seems its mainly the young chavs that were involved, most of the others begrudginly admitted we deserved it and headed to the pub for a pint.

Its such a shame when this happens. Being a fan is a tribal thing to a degree, but there is nice place for violence in the game. Was nothing learned from Heysel and other tragedies like that?!

equally i fail to see any connection in the behaviour of those who attended between Heysel and Hillsborough and todays events..

trouble is when some on here use terms like hate toward other teams, that doesnt help..

That numpty squaring up to the horse ........ well what can I say ? It's just a shame the horse hadn't stamped his empty skull into the ground.

Otherwise I'm appalled at the actions of the minority of people. These people are not football fans, they are thugs intent on causing bother no matter what - in much the same way as some will cause bother on the day Mrs. T, is laid to rest.

By all means speak your mind, I'm in favour of that, but to turn a football match or a funeral into mayhem and chaos, sorry but that is bang out of order ......
