Cats - just being dicks - I know this is not the popular mam site

So, for the past 18months I've been a reluctant cat mum... I do not like cats (I've had to learn to like cats, because they live with me now )

The cats - have started to piss on well everything! I've scrubbed, used enzyme cleaner, litter boxes cleaned and waiting. The cats are just pure dicks?! Anyone whose a cat whispers with any kind of insight how I can stop them shitting in my shoes?

Are they indoor only cats or outdoorsy?

Is their litter tray changed regularly?

Are you giving off “fuck off and leave!” Vibes? Because they could be reciprocating with “take this!!!” Poo in your shoe vibes.

They could be anxious and taking awhile to readjust.

Do you have one more litter box than the number of cats? It is possible that one is not allowing the other to has the box.

Get some Feliway plug ins that are supposed to calm them. Get them checked over for urinary tract problems and ask the vet for advice. If you can, confine them to one room with litter trays. Change the type of litter you use.

They have both been spayed since living with me (daughters cats - she left here). They're indoors mostly post spay/I don't stop them going out if they want to. They return pretty quick of I rattle Dreamies

It's the peeing issue really... They chill in bed with me, all over the house. They're really settled... But then one will randomly piss (older one uses the trays). Younger is 2yrs so not a baby, although older cat treats her as such (she's had a past litter). Trays are immaculate, I scoop daily, and wash out probs more than necessary to encourage younger puss to use

Absolutely no fuck off & leave vibes I twist, but they sleep in my bed and get loads of enrichment. They know they're doing well here

How many cats do you have? Are they all showing the same behaviour?

It could be health related, so worth getting the vet to check for a UTI. Arthritis and pain might prevent your cat from getting into it's litter tray. Is there anything which might have changed and is causing your cat to be stressed?

Do you have enough litter trays? Some cats won't share with other cats, some prefer to pee and poo in different trays. Have you changed the location of the litter tray? Or the type of litter you use? Are you charging the litter regularly...you might need to do this more frequently for some cats.

Just a couple of ideas to get you started

2 cats. The 4yr old uses the trays as normal (I have 3 in different spots in case they want privacy/no other cat smells). Older cat is fine with it. Younger cat has randomly started peeing on carpet/bed

She's 2wks post spay I should add. So maybe that's the issue?

The older cat has sprayed a couple of times where younger cat has. But I think that's just a dominant thing?

It could be that she's stressed from that but always a good idea to check in with your vet when there's a significant behaviour change. Hope you get it sorted

Take them to the vet to get checked out.

It probably isn't anything serious as they're both exhibiting that behaviour, but I've just had to have my darling cat girl put to sleep due to advanced kidney disease. She started peeing in inappropriate places months ago and I thought it was just stress. I got the feliway plug-ins and didn't think to take her to the vet. If I had, we might have been able to treat her and she'd not be dead now
