Existed!

I read a quote that said ‘you aren’t the first person in your lineage to be queer.’

It’s changed me ❤️

We have always been here

I initially read that as "lingerie", not "lineage". Funny enough, it would have made sense anyway.

It's very true. The maiden aunt or confirmed bachelor may have been so because they were LGBTQ, etc

Central

As it exists in multiple species, I assume that it evolved before homo sapiens came into existence.

It’s sort of stating the obvious. Also I don’t get the importance of it. I’m Bi myself, but the self aggrandising of the gay/bi community is very odd imo

(Not aiming this at anyone in this thread - I mean in general across social media and mainstream media).

I’m not quite sure what you mean by that?

If you’ve been living in the shadows naturally you’ll dance in the sunshine.

That’s a nice phrase

Because being the only queer person in your family can be very alienating 🤷‍♀️ I’m not the only queer, but I am the only lesbian, so it can get isolating. For me, remembering that I’m not the first person in my lineage to be queer makes me remember my ancestors and how it isn’t just me.

It’s also just a nice saying.
