Why do you workout?

I don't. I hate it. I have never reached the endorphin stage with it, and there are much more enjoyable ways to flood my body with endorphins that I enjoy every moment of. And I think I look good without it anyway 💜 |

"Personally for me, I do it because it makes me feel good about myself and I like challenges and goals "
Same
But to add to this, I find exercise a great way of burning off my stress levels, I zone out completely from life and the endorphins make me feel so good afterwards |

Once you reach a certain stage, it's a great feeling to stretch your body in this way.
Also the health benefits are great.
Reduced stress levels.
Reduced body fat.
Better looking physique.
I'm glad I got back into it recently. I feel good about me! (I did before, but much more now!).

I notice a dip in my mental health when I’m not active. I don’t get really depressed or anything but I just don’t feel right. I also enjoy what my body is capable of doing. I can go for a 5k run and not feel exhausted by it. I can still lift some pretty decent weight and of course I like how my body responds to the exercise I do. |

Does running count?
If so, because I enjoy it; I enjoy exploring new and longer routes, I enjoy running old routes faster than before, I enjoy being in competition with myself.
The extra stamina for other activities is a welcome bonus. |

Of course it does, where I live. It is all uphill, so I run uphill always. Makes running on flat land, easy. |

Mental health
Physical health
Feeling of strength, agility and cardiovascular stamina.
I have no desire to be a chunky guy, I'm happy at 100k; relatively trim but strong. I used to be 115kg and didn't enjoy feeling so bulky. |

Used to train for strength at a younger age to the point of competition level powerlifting for my weight class. Now that I’m older, I don’t risk injury with such heavy weights and just train as it makes me feel good with the added benefit of being aesthetic. |

How do you get home then?

Downhill lol.
Nah joking aside, I live pretty much in the country so it is all hilly "
All those ups and downs sound like a rollercoaster lol |

"To keep myself fit and healthy. I don’t lift to get big or heavy - I just want to keep the muscles working as I start to get older. Keeping the testosterone pumping obviously has other benefits
Hmmm I wonder what they might be "
Marmite works as well |

I need to get back into it. I ised to cycle and curcuit train. Shattered my elbow and the recovery time and then work and then this & that and now the endorphin rush and the not bad body shape is a distant (and envious) memory.
Must get back in the saddle.

I enjoy going outside walking swimming and cycling.
I go to the gym on average 3 times a weight just to lift weights … this I don’t particularly enjoy but I do this consistently anyway because I know how vital muscle mass is in advancing years |

To maintain my current(ish) weight and build (that I'm happy with) as I love food and drink. To maintain my proformas and ability physically (its important to me that I can climbs things, lift things and run at distance when I want). It helps my mental wellbeing and to regulate my stress and anxiety. Plus I know it's just good for my overall health as I get older.

Because I enjoy it. Most of the time. It has escalated somewhat though.
2 years ago I couldn’t run 5k but now I regularly do triathlons and fitness competitions.
The whole ‘I wonder how far I can take this’ thing seems to have spiralled… 2025 has an Ironman on the cards.
And also I eat cake. A lot of it. This stops me being the size of a house |

For both my physical and mental wellbeing. It all used to be about the aesthetic for me, but since I hit the 40s exercise is more about weight management, reducing my cardiovascular risk factors and longevity 😂 |

I like to feel good, not old. I enjoy the compliments about how good I look for my age, and how people are surprised when I tell them how old I actually am. I have children, and I want to be around as long as I can to see them flourish |

I don't enjoy the gym, but I have been going for over a year now, my motivation is to be fitter and avoid health problems.
My best friend was diagnosed with cancer at 45! I don't want to go through what he's had to deal with. Hence my health drive. It's a bonus way to get in with the ladies |

I stayed fit for my job, also I played a fair few sports to a high standards and needed to maintain and still be selected. Then later in life as the sports slowed I tick over so that I can eat and drink what I want, when I want. |

I would be bored after 5 minutes at a gym or going for a run so I do martial arts as there is a group dynamic which I appreciate. Apart from the obvious benefits of exercise I also want to be able to protect myself. |

I’ve tried I really have and I really wished that I could see the point and enjoy it but I find it’s painfully boring.I was a scaffolder and it’s a hard enough job but a lot of the lads would go in the morning before work.I think it was to compensate for the cans of Stella and the gram of sniff everyone had for breakfast |
