I eat spaghetti, macaroni, linguine, farfalle, penne, lasagne, spirali, fusilli, tagliatelle, conchiglie, ravioli, tortellini.
There's a lot more I haven't tried yet. |

"I eat spaghetti if I want a spag’ bol’.
Final other pasta gigs, I use penne. I don’t understand the whole pasta shape thing. "
Some are better at holding/being coated with sauces. Some are good for chunky sauces, others smooth. Some are good for twirling, some are good for scooping up with a spoon. Others are good for bakes. Some are good for soups. Then there's ones that are good for being filled. Etc etc.
Moral of the story: never question the Italians 🤌 |

I get the theory, but in practice I can never tell the difference.
It’s my unsophisticated level of culinary knowledge.

Oh I definitely can. I chopped up the veg for my sauce really tiny recently, and then added tiny pasta to it. The texture when chewing almost made me vom, it was just too many tiny things at once. Would have been delicious with big pasta tho 🤷🏻♀️ |

There appears to be over 350 known types (shapes) of Pasta…
However many of the have fallen from favour and are very hard to fined!
Each has an official number, god I need to get out more and not just to buy pasta…🤣 |
