Good morning my fellow fabbers, i am suffering from the festival blues. After attending both download and reading festival this year (and absolutely loving every second) I have found that im missing the festival vibes, so have begun my search into any news on next years headliners are there any fellow downloaders or reading heads here who have heard rumors

The fact Linkin Park are back is making me think they will be a potential headliner. Also maybe someone who has never headlined before. Ghost maybe?

Metallica are still doing their 72 seasons tour so they might come back for download.

I think slipknot are gearing up, if not Corey certainly is touring.

I could see linken park coming on as a support act.

I think it's also been a while since biffy Clyro did the main headline

Personally I see

Greenday opening Friday night with possibly korn subbing

Slipknot Saturday slot with either ghost or sleep token subbing

Iron maiden 50th anniversary setcclosing Sunday with possibly either system of a down or rise against subbing

Like others have said I would not be surprised at all if Linkin Park are announced being headliners on (I think) four other previous years.

Metallica, having played last year but not this, surely strong candidates too.

Slayer seem to be available for "one off" festival appearances despite "retiring" a few years back.

Also the organisers admitted a bit of an "own goal" by putting Pantera over on the "lowly" Second Stage so, if they're still a touring reality, they may "right a wrong" and have them headline the mainstage.

Organisers also said if Limp Bizkit came back they should headline. So could set up Fri: Limp Bizkit, Sat: Linkin Park, Sun: SOAD(the dream)/Metallica

I had seen in some of the download forums rumours of bring me the horizon and sleeptoken as potentials for download headliners next year, linkin park would be amazing. Only a couple more months and there will be a download announcement, think it's normally around November!

Prodigy have also been muted to be on the bill so could be a possible headliner?
