"I'm good for now. Will make my only cup at around 10ish
How are you still functioning?
Me
Eyes half open
Make coffee
Drink coffee
Eyes still not focusing
Make 2nd coffee
Awake "
I love coffee but I try not to drink it first thing as there's something about not drinking it 90-120mins after you wake up for a nerdy reason no one wants to hear |

Ok, so I don't think it's been proven but there have been studies linking the caffeine in coffee and a chemical called adenosine in your body which helps fuel sleep.
When you first wake up, you're essentially filled with adenosine so when you drink coffee, the caffeine blocks the adenosine receptors in your body which doesn't wake you up but pretty much brings you back to '0'.
When that caffeine wears off, the adenosine rushes back into your body which results in afternoon crashes that people experience. By waiting to drink your first cup of coffee, you're allowing the adenosine to leave your body naturally and that's when that coffee can give you a good caffeine kick.
Told you it was nerdy |

Had the one coffee of the day (actually not true, I had one around midnight as I was contemplating staying up to watch the Orange One lose his shit - so two in that case).
Now on the Chinese tea by the bucket full. |
