How does your condition impact your swinging/personal life if at all?
I know for me alcohol is a big trigger so if I attend a club or party I avoid drinking too much. It also means I need to plan my meals the day before to stop a flair up otherwise I’m left feeling bloated and definitely not in my sexy mindset.
It’s something people just don’t talk about but does impact a large number of people. Are you one of them and what things have you found that help control the condition you have? |

I often get an attack of IBS before a meet, it's awful
Stomach can bloat 2 x the normal size and frequent trips to the bathroom in the few days leading up to it.
For me, buscopan relieves the cramps, and I have also taken immodium.

I’m in the exact same position, it’s the nervous energy that really makes things worse. It doesn’t just have to be a meet, it can be something at work, waiting for a delivery or simply waiting for an important call. I don’t take anything for it but I do wake up an hour early for work to make sure things are ermmm, settled shall we say. |

We’ve travelled to clubs before and I’ve had a flare up before we leave the hotel. Had to cancel meets before to. I try and be careful leading up to a meet or I bloat and multi toilet trips or I can not go at all. X |

I get a bit of IBS every so often. It's no big deal, but I don't do anal for fear of them meeting something wanting to come out as they're going in. I suspect it would ruin the mood and I'd get a rum verification |

Do you find it tricky on a vanilla night out? So many bar male toilets seem to have the door lock removed to stop certain activities, having a cramp and urgent need often means having to use whatever is there but my god it’s embarrassing |

I remember reading of a new med for ulcerative colitis earlier this year, realise it's a different condition but advances are being made. It might be worth having a search around to see if anything new med wise for the condition has come out that you could follow up with your gp. |

My lactose intolerance was wrongly diagnosed as IBS 15 years ago and since I discovered this I've rarely had any issues apart from the very odd occasion if I eat something that doesn't agree.
I've been hearing a lot of good reports about people using Slippery Elm supplements and I know a number of people who swear that they have made a major difference to their IBS issues but whether it works for everyone or not I can't say. |

That’s very interesting, I’m going to have a good read up on that one and hopefully try it out. Thanks |

"Ive been to the doctors and had tests for colitis, chrons etc but all came back fine
I tend to suffer from bloating and IBS like symptoms. Anyone try and avoid dairy and does that work for you?"
I had all those symptoms and had every test going. They found nothing at all but said it was "probably" IBS.
As soon as I cut out dairy all of those symptoms disappeared and only ever flare up if I eat in a strange restaurant or dairy isn't listed in the ingredients.
It's also worth noting that Lactose free products in France and other parts of Europe actually do contain lactose but because they are below certain levels they are classed as free from. They would not pass in Ireland or the UK. |
