Really thought he'd gone past the point of no return but I'm happy to see him there, healthy looking and smiling.

Good on ya Gaz.

I watched him when he was on piers Morgan and he'd just come out of rehab!! And he said how well he was. It's so sad to see... I can't help think his life is too troubled... But I hope he can stay away from the drink!!!?

"You think he will stay off the drink?"

Sadly, I don't believe he will. I'm sure he thinks he will at this moment in time, but he's got a self destructive streak in him.

Over the rainbow, under the bridge

George Best all over again. He may not have had a drink for months but he's still very much addicted.

He's only a human being people wouldn't give a damn if he was some 21 year old alcoholic drinking through despair that this government has given the youth no futures

Why do people look at so called celebs with sympathy , he had his chances , loves , booze etc etc get on with it

There are kids out there with fatal diseases who will never see what gazza , best lived

We are all humans who go to a toilet

Queen included , why do people get off on celebs, live your life it's a gift money cannot buy

As a man utd fan I watched best

He walked out of 1999 euro cup final 10 mins to go

Never saw that famous end

Celebs!!!! Simply human beings like all of us

In Your Bush

It's tough for anyone coming off the drink whoever you are. I hope he finds the strength to do it.

Its like hes alive one minute and gonna be dead the next. like whitney houston, MJ, margaret thatcher etc. etc.

If he died it would be really really sad because hes had depression, alchoholism and other health problems to content with.

its not his fault hes an alchoholic its a drug dependancy and i hope that this is the return of a decent guy.

i hope he makes a real comeback and dosent do a whitney .

I love Gazza, always will. Of course his volatile period with his ex wife will always come up but that's his personal life and not for me to judge. It seriously breaks my heart to see a hero go down the rocky road. I,ve always been like him, the craic in the dressing room, classroom. The entertainer. I can really relate to him bar his alcohol intake, not a drinker myself. I hope and pray for a positive out one for him.

Who in their right mind would let him near kids though. Gazza is an alcoholic and that's not something you are cured of - you learn to live with it. It would be crazy for an organisation that deals with children to take a huge gamble in employing Gazza at this moment in time. Give it five years and if he can demonstrate he hasn't touched a single drop of booze in that time and maybe he'll stand a chance of doing something more worthwhile with his life but until then all he's going to get offered is the after-dinner circuit.

I wasn't saying that I don't want him to have a fulfilling life, and I'd love to see him working with the youth setup at NUFC, but they just can't take a risk on him. If he turns up pissed and a kid is injured because of him the ramifications would be enormous.
