My heroes were authors and I read more instead of watching T.V.

George Orwell, William Golding, Ray Bradbury.

I did watch some TV but it was either Newsnight, Whicker's World, or other current affairs.

I remember a fondness for Blake's Seven. I resonated with Vila the most.
