I've only had them the once and they remind me of a biscuit in Australia, whose name I've forgotten.

Back in the 1950s (I think) they were invented to be purportedly healthy. They are not healthy *and* they're boring. It's sort of like edging but without gratification, then or later. If you're gonna eat a biscuit, go hard or go home.

Stephen Fry said it. I’m not intelligent enough to argue with him."

It derives from the HMRC trying to put tax on it, because chocolate on biscuits attracts a tax and chocolate on cake doesn't.

It was determined that Jaffa Cakes are cake at law, because they go hard when they go stale, while biscuits go soft. Therefore no VAT.

Hob nobs are ok if they are chocolate (definitely better than jaffa cakes), but otherwise they are just the scr4pings from the floor in the bakery mixed with wood shavings...

Now rich tea biscuits (could even get me back to drinking tea).

Hobnobs are one of the finest biscuits known to man, for dunking in tea. They were followed by a revolution when covered with milk chocolate. Put simply, the chocolate hobnob is the undisputed king of biscuits.

"All this talk of biscuits is making me miss my Grandma 😢

I can't bake like my ancestors, but baking is something I can do. It also reminds me of my mum, grandparents, etc, even if mine was a bit more... rustic.

Mine didn’t bake. She had 2 fingers so we called her kitkat.

Sorry I set that joke up expecting a less thoughtful reply.

I nearly responded to your earlier comment by saying "I Daren't ask", but then thought suppose he was being serious.

I was originally going to say because she was hit by a taxi but it turns out they don’t make them anymore.

Nice, that was a Rocky road you were going down there!

If I kept going I could have had a Time Out."

That's the one. I think they're a bit mushy for a milkshake, but other dessert maybe

I'll do it if I can keep them firm. Like half a mouthful of milkshake and also bite a biscuit

The thing I've found with most of the fakes is that you're better off eating almost anything else.

I've tried one packet, never again. I'll stick to low sugar rich tea and digestives.

I think they're pretty average. Decent enough dunking biscuits, but they're not my go-to.
