I've just had the dreaded email asking for suggestions ASAP as "we need something in the diary".
My company always do a "mandatory attendance" and the past couple of years have been the predictable group meal followed by getting plastered. Last year they at least took us to Liverpool although this meant an overnight stay and travelling back on a Saturday in your own time - which you didn't get back.
Issue is there's two or three people in the office who absolutely love Christmas and thrive off this sort of thing. And we have colleagues living and working in Europe who come over for it, so it's nice to see them.
I'm expecting the usual suggestions of "meal here" or "Christmas markets in X or Y" but without being a Scrooge I think I'd rather have the cash they spend on you "per person" for the night/hotel/X Y Z as a Christmas bonus.
Genuinely hoping the pick the last weekend in November as I'm off and abroad on holiday!
