Ok so its been some years since I wallpapered.
Just bought paper for my downstairs toilet and its tiny. Tiled to the half and wont need much doing.
I need tips though to remind me how to do it please. I bought two rolls but expect to only need 1. Both from same batch number.
Pasting table being bought next week as my last one died.
Equipment needed.....a list please. Scissors brush paste dry brush.....anything else. Bugger yes a plumbline.
Wont fit two in my downstairs loo so its just me doing my best. Will take shelving down and lightshade. Any tips please would be helpful.

Take all the stuff you've bought back and swap it for a brush and a tin of paint, and a nice canvas! A nice scenic one - or better yet - a home made erotic one of a baby oiled pair of gazongas!!
Waaaaaaaaay less stress! |

This may sound daft, but if you've got nail varnish on, take it off - when you get paste on your fingers (as inevitably happens) and you use your fingers to crease paper at top or bottom (or even just brushing your nails across the paper accidentally) your nail varnish may well come off on the paper I've had to bin a couple of lengths in the past when that's happened and I've not been able to remove it |

"Sit on the loo and look directly ahead, that is your focal point wall, so make sure your first drop is central on this wall and work outwards from that.
"
Ok thanks good tip. Was going to start from the right edge of that wall but are you saying the first one should be central on that wall? X |

Yes. the pattern needs to be central to that wall, like in a living room, you would start central chimney breast. Its the one wall people will see most of ( if sat on the loo). |

I'm crap at any diy, though I did change a light fitting in the past, and was so proud!
Just as a heads up, I will be looking for tips about selling my flat (bearing in mind this is Scotland and we still have those home reports!)
So keep an eye out in a few weeks time! All advise will be appreciated |

One tip to prevent bubbles in your paper make sure you read instructions and allow the wallpaper to soak before hanging, that way you should have no bubbles when it dry's, try not to use Stanley knifes to trim they can often rip the paper I always use sharp scissor's |

Well, hanging wallpaper is very much like making love to a beautiful woman. Clean all the relevant surfaces, spread her out on the table, cover her with paste, and stick her up.
Then you clean your brush, light your pipe, stand back and admire your handywork. |

Dont skimp on tools, make sure you have a good pair of scissors above all,
Use a proper paste table if you can, not the kitchen table
Dont bother with a papering brush if you havn't got one, use a medium/long pile roller sleeve instead
Work out where your drops are going first, where you going to start and finish...you dont want to end up putting little thin strips into a corner
Read the instructions on the paper
Ignore the mixing instructions on paste..6 litres of water for a big bag, 3-4 for a small bag
Wipe the paste table as you go, dont get paste on the paper, if you do, wipe it off
Dont use 'stanley' knives, they are too big, use a small snap off blade knife
Work away from the light
Make sure your first bit is straight
Bu before you do any papering, make sure the walls are properly prepared, and able to take paste.
Enjoy! |

Luckily I am having naughty fun that weekend so may need some good sex after tackling this |

Then hang?" lol it should tell you on the Instructions if not paste one piece and then paste another, then go back and hang the 1st one you have pasted that should be ok, I always paste about 3 a head before I hang the 1st one, but them I'm old school and cut all my lengths I need before pasting |

This plus don't cut the paper up before you've worked out the pattern especially if its a drop pattern |

Get him to do the wallpapering BEFORE, then you can decide how big a bonus he deserves |
