Got a problem with the main dial that controls which went's the air comes out off, apparently one of two cables on the back can fall off, i tried removing the switch cluster today but because of the cables the switch only pulls out a little bit, has anyone done this job and know the best way to remove the switch,

i had a look around the side of the heater box but could not see the ends of the cables to try to disconnect them from that end.

This is actually a common problem with this model - luckily I have previously resolved this issue by placing a petrol soaked rag in the fuel filler nozzle and lighting it - takes about 90 seconds but the ensuing fireball completely removes the problem area!!
