Have you considered buying something for a while but not pulled the trigger yet for one reason or another? What's stopping you?

Well it's for me. The moment I buy something for myself an unexpected bill arrives through the door.

Dooo it, dooo it.

I am incredibly indecisive. Can spend hours online shopping, putting things in my basket and then not actually buying anything because I realise they are not a necessity 😂

I'd absolutely love a vintage motorbike. I've saved up enough cash to buy one but I've never ridden one and I would probably die within a week if I did. I use my weight issues as a reason to not get one yet.

I went to buy a new mitre saw and bench as it was on offer.

Looked at it, the box and all the necessary information, went for a coffee, came back, sold.

What a dopey cow I am !!

The lovely assistant trawled around all the other branches and found another, drove there and now I'm the proud owner of a new shiny saw and bench.

Didn't make the same mistake with a chainsaw, bought on the spot.

If anything isn't fixed down, it gets a piece of chainsaw action.

Nope, that's not an issue. I keep telling myself when I lose x amount of weight. And it always shifts. They're probably going to stop making it before I'm truly happy with myself.

Currently, not having a functioning bank card is stopping me.

Before that, it was because I spent payday starting to book up tickets for things over spooky season and don't want to leave myself short for the month.

Before that, nothing, I was going hog wild on buying up fun things for spooky season.

Next month is definitely new shoes month though 💜

Yes, I chickened out last minute. It's currently a perma-open tab. Has been for some time. 😁

Excellent points! I love how you’ve spent the evening talking everyone into spending their dorrar but haven’t yet spent yours hahaha.

Could you maybe save half this month then buy them next month? That’ll give you a couple of weeks to consider how much you want them while lifting at the gym. Then, when you get them, you’ll know you need them and didn’t blow all the money in one pay packet.

"Buying things makes me happier. The more expensive, the happier I am.

Whoever said money doesn't buy happiness, lied.

Exactly! Money can buy you jet-skis. Have you ever seen a sad person on a jet-ski?"

This is very true. I was very sad when I flew off the back of a jet-ski. I was happy while I was on the jet-ski.

2 things

A motorbike and a tattoo

Can't warrant spending that much money on myself despite wanting both since I was 17.

Hubby did buy me the cbt test last year as a surprise because he knows how much I want one.

"Having an unreliable doorbell puts me off buying anything which needs to be delivered.

This has saved me quite a lot of money.

That's certainly one way to curb the spending! The irony of you possibly buying a new doorbell though... "

Don't need a new one, just an occasional spray with switch cleaner but haven't done it recently!

Ok, so they're weightlifting shoes. The ones I want are £150 and I'll definitely use them a lot. It's a bit about cost and a lot about whether I can justify wearing them for the weight I lift

"

Buy the weightlifting shoes, very much worth it IMO, weight lifted is irrelevant.

For me I do this regularly over watches. I already have 9, I've bought 1 this year but very nearly pulled the trigger on 2 others.

Not even the cookies! Just talking about it can make the ads appear now

Exactly, not the jet-ski's fault at all!

Not necessarily an object or item but I want, well need, to have my roots touched up. But money and time are both very limited. So I think a box dye will have to do this time. Sigh.

I think the raised heel would be an absolute game changer and just been using small plates in the meantime which are a bit awkward.

Watch collecting is an interesting hobby! Finding the right occasion to wear them for might be a bind though!

Bit of advice Joe beans - don’t buy an odd number of shoes.

Watches: Ok

Shoes: Not ok

I’m really tempted to get Invisalign treatment. I also want a new sofa and another holiday

Yeah, difference between using plates and shoes is huge. Adipower 2s I have, can pick them up for ~£80.

1 of the watches I don't wear, it's an investment piece. The others I just rotate.

I’d really like an IQMS362 dustless masonry saw for work too been debating a while but 3 and a half grand is a considerable outlay for something that won’t offer any money making benefit other than comfort of use

I've thought about getting Invisalign in the past but with the cost, I felt very vain if I did but seems like a great investment if it helps the confidence in your own smile

I've been looking at Nike Romaleos but the Adipowers seem like a good idea as it's more for comfort in lifts than doing serious powerlifting.

That makes sense, always good to match the watch with the outfit too

I would normally say that comfort of use is important if you're using it often but do agree that 3 and a half grand for anything is rather steep

I rarely have spare funds for big purchases, the washing machine went to scrap heap in the sky (well it's still in my kitchen) the other day, brakes need doing on pay day so the washing machine will have to wait another month, even if we do have spare cash left over as if we get one, we can't do other stuff in the month as want to do, so hand washing, using the machine at work and the launderette will do for now x

I spend most months by peeling myself away from things I can afford, but over think the purchase so much that I walk away

My biggest frivolity is holidays

There was a time when I holidayed pretty much every month

Unfortunately, I can't take any at the moment, but I still put money in savings for when I can
