It'll be interesting to see what more scholars make of the findings. What I gleaned from the article is that the cloth is that old *if* it was stored in very stable settings. That's a lot to ask for a single artefact for millennia. |

"You have to believe in the d*unken writings of the monks that wrote the bible to believe its the real blood of christ. I do not x

Or you can think about it like an historian.
Is this a physical artefact that relates to the ancient texts, to the extent that they relate to historical events? |

More possible, or should I say plausable. It probably relates to one of the far fetched made up stories written in the bible. |

No.
Christ? There's far too many religious figures and deities to make any of their existences believable.
It's all nonsense for people who need to believe in something other than themselves. |

Most ancient texts have weird shit in them. They can be sorted through, verified against physical evidence, filtered through cultural lenses, etc.
I'm not a subject area expert on Roman Judea, but my educated guess is that there was likely an itinerant apocalyptic preacher (they existed at the time) called Jesus (common name) son of Joseph (common name) who was a carpenter (trade that existed). Otherwise, I don't know what is or isn't true, it's outside my wheelhouse. |

"I think it's interesting to discuss how we evaluate historical artefacts
Yes, the discourse on the subject has been mind blowing."
It's better than a tug of war between religious people and otherwise |
