I’d throw in - generic or based entirely on the sender/speaker’s desires and fantasies = crass

Involving agreed/shared interests that are intended to work as much for me as for them = sexy

It's such a subjective thing. How I'm feeling that day. Who is saying/typing it - I'm more likely to see it as less crass if it's someone I find attractive or respect. How it's portrayed. Language used.

Crass can sometimes be sexy for me. That direct approach, doing away with the flowery delicate touch. I'm a tad odd though.
