If I had had a son I would have named him Caleb Cage. Obviously it would come in handy if he decided to become a Superhero in his adult life.
What names would you choose for your future offspring or for yourself if you fancied a change. |

I wanted to call my youngest (19 now) anakin, was all set to and then my ex mother in law got involved, if he was a girl, I wanted seven (as in seven of nine).
My middle son has one of his middle names "chakotay" from star trek, I won with that one 😂.
My cats have middle names, the boy is Derek (greys anatomy) and ashleeeee as in Ashley Johnson from critical role 😂 |

My mum wanted to name me Simon.
The date of my birth was around 1st April, she was worried that if it was 1st April the kids at school would call me "Simple Simon" so Paul it was.
Kids can be so cruel. |

Yep, I had my mum get involved saying you "can't call her that" when I wanted to name my daughter kitten so I hyphenated it with a regular name then - kitten then gave her 22 other names.
When you get cross with the cat do you shout out his full name? |

I think Paul is quite ageless. Simon is one of those names that kind of phazed out in the 80s. I only know one Gen Z Simon.
What name would you choose. |

Tom, not Thomas shortened, hate when people abbreviate your name.
Don't get me started on babe, hun, sweetheart, darling...
Tom fits with my surname too.
I was in a shop last week and a mum spoke to a young girl and called her Elsie.
She didn't look like an old aunt to me.

If our youngest had been a girl he would have been Iris.
When I was a child I always liked the name Cynthia. My sister thought it was from Rugrats, but I think I got it from watching Wives and Daughters. I loved the idea of calling out to a child and being able to shout "Sin" in the street. I always was a heretic |

Iris is one of my favourite flowers. Great name too.
I picture Cynthia being a more mature woman from the WI (or Cynthia Payne) |

If the impossible phenomenon of Divine Intervention occurred and I had another child, they'd be called Austin or Jude if a boy, and Rosie or Suzannah if a girl.
As it is, I'll be choosing cat names only going forward, which apparently I'm very bad at. |

He has never mentioned he was thankful he changed it, he goes by his nickname most of the time these days "frezley" (his two middle names Fred and Lesley 😂). It also doesn't help that the name we did eventually choose turned out to be Rubik name (he isn't my kids dad), so now we have big and little (actual name), I think he resents that more tbh lol |

I grew up watching a lot of zombie movies in the 80s. Usually the kind where a barrel of secret govenment toxic waste has been released near a graveyard so I've always been a bit wary of that situation actually occurring. I do however live near a Victorian cemetery so the thought of all these zombies dressed in 1800s atire, Reading poetry and twirling parasols an interesting concept. |

It is said that George A. Romero's film Night of the Living Dead was based on a real-life event in which there was an accidental release of the chemical 2–4–5 Trioxin, seeping into a VA Morgue, causing the corpses to reanimate.
Oh wow thats pretty cool, in a zombie kinda way.
28 days later has killed it for me. Zombies used to be slow. I would last 5 minutes with these speed freak zombies "
Yeah, fast zombies arnt that fun, now an army of saw moving zombie is terrifying, especially in a big city. |

I don’t want kids, so when my best friend got pregnant I tried very hard to convince her to call her child Nora. Yes I know it’s an old lady name but I love it.
She says she’s grateful she had two boys so she didn’t have have that conversation with me
Never had a boys name picked out. But my cats have old men names so maybe it’s a good job I don’t have kids |

"If the impossible phenomenon of Divine Intervention occurred and I had another child, they'd be called Austin or Jude if a boy, and Rosie or Suzannah if a girl.
As it is, I'll be choosing cat names only going forward, which apparently I'm very bad at.
All good ones. Are you for or against human names for pets? "
We have had Graham the female ferret, Richard the female rabbit, and Henry Johnson the cat. Who was aslo female |

"Daughter - Jezebel (a good religious name, the ultra right would love it)
Son - Ghengis "
I like Jezebel. I think a lot of people wouldn't know the origin these days anyway.

My son was going to be cain right up to the night before he was born
We changed it to Callum and at the time neither of us had heard of it before.
If he had been a girl it was going to be Alicia.
I know someone whose baby is called Deluka apparently it's from greys anatomy |

"My granddaughter is called Eliza an old fashioned name and my grandson is jack which is everywhere but he was actually named after my dad. Don't think that will ever go out of fashion"
I had a girl at my school a few years back who looked just like Audrey Hepburn. I used to call her Eliza then found out it was actually her name.
Loads of Jack's about. Sad that the trend of short names is dying out (burt, wally, Peggy etc) |
