had a bet today on US Masters and took a fixed price in a high street bookmaker and took fixed odds at 80/1. went back into the bookies later and the manager told me that they had made a mistake and it should have been only 66/1 and even though they had written the fixed odds on the slip they would not honour it and my bet is still 66/1 ... ehhhh ?? |

If the price has never been 80/1 there is no chance they will honour it. If the bet is a winner kick up a bit of a stink when you go to collect and you'll prob get a free small bet as a token gesture but you have no chance of them honouring it i'm afraid |

Go to the bookies and TELL them you want the phone number of the racing ombudsman. Do not take any nonsense from them. They are legally obliged to give it to you. Try their head office and if they don't resolve the matter ring the ombudsman and he will sort it for you straight away. I am pretty certain that when they write down the odds, that is a contract. In any event you are entitled to those odds. |

You may as well get in touch with their head office and request the number of the ombudsman. I would imagine they will resolve the matter there and then. Do not take any nonsense you are entitled to those odds |

Give them 2 options first is to honour it or secondly to refund you so you can take your bet to another bookies and never give them business again. They can work out if its a profit loss gamble for them worth taking. |

I would contact their head office and explain, I assume the 80/1 isn't available anywhere else, if it is I would ask for a refund and bet there.
Unfortunately, if they choose not to honour the 80/1 they will just claim 'palpable error' as per their t's & c's and you won't get paid at 80/1
Who did you back anyway?? |
