Just been told someone passed away....is there any site where you can find out if this true please

You could Google the name with obituary after it and see what pops up.

Births, deaths and marriages get registered, so you may be able to search those.

If there is due to be a coroner’s inquest it will be recorded by their office, open and immediately adjourned to allow for the funeral. The actual proceedings won’t take place for a few weeks/months.

If they died in the care of a doctor there won’t be an inquest.
